"Shawn was easy to work with, helped us find a great realtor and did a great job on cleaning tile floors, repairing tub/shower grout and fixing problems with toilet. Appreciated his flexibility in scheduling after my husband had heart surgery. Cleaned up well and left house in good shape-no mess!"

"This was a really good experience from the initial phone call to the very nice gentleman named Josh who came promptly, worked quickly and was totally great. I will keep the company as my plumbing co. and I will ask for Josh every time. Their rate for replacing my toilet valve and installing 2 new shower heads was fair and reasonable. I recommend them highly to anyone in need."

"Excellent work. They were on time and left a clean work area. We had them install a hot water heater, a water purification system and two toilets. We intend to hire them to help renovate the kitchen. Highly recommend NextLevel plumbing."

"This company was awesome. They listen to what we said about the clogged pipe, came out the next day (called them after 5:00 pm), service was excellent, and the price was VERY reasonable. We already had a quote from another company, and they were twice the price, I would highly recommend Kelly's Plumbing to everybody. Thank you!!!!"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

The most practical and common setup is a toilet that connects with the sewer line or a septic tank. However, it is possible to install a toilet without a sewer line, and this can be particularly helpful in basements with no or outdated plumbing. An increasingly popular option is an environmentally friendly composting toilet. Other waterless options include incinerating or dry flush toilets, which pull the waste into an airtight container.

In most cases, it’s better to repair a toilet than to replace it. Fixing issues like low water levels, running water, and flushing problems is less expensive than buying a new unit. Start thinking about replacement if the toilet is cracked, using excessive amounts of water, or is over 15 years old. Newer models are more water-efficient and clog less often than older models.

Yes, and no. Your shower, toilet, and sink all connect to the same main drain, but the secondary drains going from each fixture to the main drain are usually separate. This isn’t always the case—especially in older homes—but since toilets contain black water and showers, tubs, and sinks have grey water, toilets are more regulated and come at a greater risk of contamination. It’s best to keep these drains separate using individual waste collection for this reason.

Replacing a toilet costs between $275 and $480 in most cases, and the average cost sits around $375. This includes removing the old toilet and installing the new toilet. Your price could be significantly higher if you invest in a high-quality brand, need the replacement done on an emergency basis, or replace your toilet as a part of a larger bathroom remodel that demands additional work.

You can pour bleach down the toilet as long as you dilute it since undiluted bleach can damage your toilet bowl. If you choose to use bleach to remove stains from your toilet, mix every cup of bleach with a gallon of water. You should also follow safety precautions when using bleach, like working in a well-ventilated area, wearing gloves, and never mixing it with any other cleaner.
