Small jobs welcome

"We had an excellent experience with B and D Christian Painters. We had a huge project on our hands - painting an entire house, including ceilings and walls - and we are very happy with the work they performed. We knew it would take a while to get all the painting done, but they actually completed it all sooner than expected for a very reasonable price. And to top it off, all the employees who came into our home were kind, knowledgeable, worked very hard, and clearly had servants' hearts. We definitely recommend this company for any painting needs!"

"This is my second time using this service. The initial room looked so nice the other rooms started to look like they needed painting too. I also took advantage of the cleaning service and was not surprised that the caliber of service was just as good as the paint job. I recommend doing both. That way your new paint job has a super clean room to compliment your investment. The cleaning service is coming back 2x a month. Totally worth it."

"John was very detailed in the work that he was going to do. When he explained everything to me he went a great detail to make sure I knew what to expect. He was very honest and upfront with me. I appreciate how quick and efficient it was to schedule as well as to get the work completed. And with a fair price. If I ever need any other work I'm going to definitely contact him and I hope that you do too"

"Shane’s Drywall Repair and Painting LLC was top-tier from start to finish. His communication was excellent and the professionalism showed immediately. I submitted a service request and he contacted me and came out to give a quote in less than 24 hours for a drywall repair caused by a plumbing leak in my garage ceiling. Not only that, he was able to complete the repair the very next day. He arrived on time and did a phenomenal job. Shane went above and beyond by cleaning up the mess left behind by the plumber and even washed my driveway, which I truly appreciated. The final result looks amazing. He perfectly matched the knockdown texture, which I know can be difficult to replicate. My ceiling now looks like nothing ever happened. I highly recommend Shane’s Drywall Repair and Painting LLC and will absolutely hire them again."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

To fix bubbling paint, scrape away any loose or blistered areas using a putty knife. Lightly sand the surface to smooth out rough edges and create a level finish. Clean the area thoroughly to remove dust, dirt, and any residue. Once the surface is clean and dry, apply a quality primer suited to the material you're painting. Finally, repaint the area, making sure to work in proper temperature and humidity conditions to prevent new bubbles from forming.

Yes, you can technically use a pressure washer to remove paint from brick, but it comes with a significant risk of damaging the brick surface. A high-power pressure washer can be fast but may leave the brick looking unsightly. The recommended method is to first apply a chemical paint stripper, following the product's instructions, and then use a stiff metal bristle brush or a pressure washer on a low-pressure setting to remove the loosened paint. Due to the risk of damage, it is often best to hire a professional who can use low-stress methods.

Think hard before deciding to German schmear your home’s exterior brickwork. If you do not like the look, you are pretty much stuck with it, as it is impossible to remove this finish the way you can remove paint. You risk damaging the underlying brick if you have to chisel and acid-wash it away. It will also take a very long time, and remnants of the mortar wash will always remain.

Sandblasting is a common method for removing paint. It works great if the underlying material is tough. This is because you can then use more abrasive sandblast materials, making the paint removal process much faster and less expensive. If you plan on removing many layers of paint on smooth surfaces, you’ll need to be more careful about which materials you choose to use to sandblast.

Sometimes you can get away with simply sanding and painting over small areas of peeling paint. However, the problem will likely return quickly, and the ridge between old and new paint will be visible. If you just need a quick fix and won't worry about appearance, chip away the peeling paint as much as possible, prime and paint the area, and skip the spackle step.
