"OK, so I have only had the windows for 3 days. Cannot review the product since I have just started using it and enjoying it. Another review on the product will follow. I will review all other aspects though. Sales Experience: My sales person was Michael M. Came to the house, measured and provided me a quote, I did not want a whole sales speech on why/what/and how of impact glass windows. I had done my research. He provided me the quote right away via e-mail ( who still uses pen and paper) and after couple of days we had reached a verbal agreement and a contract was signed at their Doral facility. Why ASP Windows: Granted, I had several other estimates and I was being very specific about what I wanted.Their price, their attention to detail ( I had spoken with another customer of theirs), the no pressure sales tactic and the availability of the product I wanted were the major selling points for me. Showroom Visit: I kept on bugging salesman to look at samples and such, visited their showroom twice to scope out the product. Very clean facilities and very friendly people always willing to help. Wait time for Installation: I was told XXX weeks ( not divulging information, not to offend other customers) and i received a call in less than XXX weeks stating my windows were ready for install. Due to scheduling conflict, i had to push installation and missed having them installed before Dorian, so I had to shutter up. Tuesday after Dorian, installation began. Window Installation Crew: Crew of three guys. It was obvious this was not their first time around the rodeo. They had almost all windows done before the day. They left the big patio door for the following day, as it was obvious it was going to take longer. Door Installation Crew: 1 guy. This dude knows his way around a door. Had both doors installed before end of day, even after having to wrestle iron gate from a concrete wall. That was the hardest part of it. Post Install Work Crew: 1 guy came over the day of the inspection in order to caulk the windows after inspection had been done. For some reason, certain cities require the caulking to be done after the inspection in order to allow inspector to see the anchors, shims, wood etc. The guy who did the caulking....a master at his craft. I could not have done a better job than that. Just like they advertise, the crew took their time covering my furniture and helping me move stuff around. They helped me take the window treatments off. Yes, there will be dust around after the install even though they were very meticulous about cleaning, but what can you expect; very fine dust cannot be removed with a broom and a vacuum cleaner. That is up to the owner to mop. I have NO complaints about any of the people involved in my transaction with the company. I give them 5+Stars if there was such a rating. For those needing financing, they have plenty of options to work with you on that. One thing I recommend to everyone; if you are doing a PACE or Ygreen loan, make sure you educate yourself about the Pros & Cons of such an option. A detailed review on the product will follow."

"Alufab USA did an exceptional job replacing all the windows in my home with hurricane glass windows. The first contact with sales rep Jack Lengel, was easy without pressure, he has extensive knowledge of the local communities and the homes within. Our impromptu visit to their showroom was was welcomed and we were given a tour of their facility/factory by the owner and saw the product displayed in their lovely showroom. The window they use is a superior USA built window by Shwinco. The office staff was efficient, professional and simply just nice to work with. Most important however is the installation - which was flawless. I cannot say enough about how good an experience it was from start to finish. I don't usually offer recommendations as I am very detail oriented and quite particular, and everyone has a different idea of what a good price is and what makes for a good job . . that said I highly recommend Alufab USA. The best home renovation project experience I've had in the 6 yrs I've lived in FL full time."

"Champion did a good job on the sales and installation side of things. Sales explained the product very thoroughly and was reachable for questions in the early part of the process, though a felt a little rushed to make the purchase. Customer service was lacking--when I tried to schedule installation of the windows I purchased, it took several tries to contact a scheduler. It seems they had only one person who could handle that task and that person was out of office, but there was no notice saying so. They were not very communicative about that, despite several messages left by me. However once the appointment was made, the installers were punctual and professional. They did a solid job of installing the windows and communicating how they work. I'd recommend Champion Atlanta overall."

"We called Absolute Windows after reading their many positive reviews, and bc they are a local, family-owned business. The salesperson was informative and not pushy. Once the windows had arrived, we were promptly contacted and a scheduling day set. The installers, Greg and Aleazar, were prompt, professional, hard workers and very conscientious. They cleaned up every day before they left, and they were respectful of us and our property. Although today was the final install day of two sliding glass doors and a houseful of windows, the the windows are already providing the quiet we were looking for, and we are looking forward to savings on our electric bill for years to come."

"Clear Choice was good to work with on this project. They worked around my schedule and situation for the installation. There was a quality problem with the sliding glass doors and they were quick to repspond to my call and started the replacement process quickly. However, they said it would take 4-6 weeks for the new doors it's now been about 8 weeks and I'm waiting to hear that the doors have been delivered so we can scheule a time to install them. I don't think it's Clear Choice's problem, but it is frustrating. We ordered Andersen windows thinking it was a good name and have been disappointed with the problem we've had."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

The best tool for DIYers to use to cut glass is a glass cutter, which can either use a straight blade or a sharp cutting wheel to score glass. Once you score the lines you want to cut, elevate the scored line over a pivot point and apply light, even pressure to both sides. Make sure you wear protective gloves and glasses to stay safe during the process.

Rubbing alcohol on its own will not remove scratches from glass. You can, however, combine rubbing alcohol with baking soda—in a one-to-one mixed ratio—to create a paste that will help get minor scratches out of glass.

Yes, it is possible to replace only the glass pane in a window without replacing the entire frame. However, this is a complex task that is best handled by a window repair professional. A technician can safely cut the seal, remove the old glass, install the new pane, and ensure it is properly sealed. For double-pane windows, this process involves creating a vacuum between the panes and filling it with insulative gas to restore the window's energy efficiency. Hiring a professional also ensures you select the right type of glass for your needs. This repair is almost always more affordable than replacing the entire window and frame.

For small, non-pressure-related cracks, you can fix them using two-part epoxy. This spares you the cost and hassle of replacing the glass. Simply clean the surface and remove any debris or dirt, wait for the glass to dry, then spread an even layer of mixed epoxy solution over the crack. You can use a putty knife or rubber spatula to push the epoxy into the crack.

You can use hot, soapy water, white vinegar, rubbing alcohol, window cleaner, nail polish remover, WD-40, and cooking oil to remove glass labels. You can also apply heat with a hair dryer or steam cleaner. Use a plastic scraper or credit card to remove the adhesive, as a razor blade can permanently scratch your glass.
