"Awful. Scheduled time of arrival 8:30 to 9:30 am on Saturday 11/2 however arrived at 11:30 am. Which I had to be out of my old condo no later than 1 pm and was told to Lux given their strict rules. It took the 2 guys until 1:23 pm to load everything. Little did I know at that time the 2 guys were up for more than 24 hours. Performed a job until 4 am and did not go to bed. Therefore I did not get 100% performance. I was given an estimate of 3-4 hours to move. Ended up taking over 8 hours. I do not fault the guys but I do fault the moving company. Tried to hand me a bill for over $1200 and that was simply not right. I had to negotiate to a sum of $945 but give up my rights to damaged property in return for the cut rate. If I had 2 laborers at 100% I can see where it would have only taken 3-4 hours. But I was not given that choice or option. I felt as if I was talked down to with not understanding moving. I am an Accountant and hold an advance degree such as an MBA with Accounting, Finance, HR and Logistics are my specialty. This move left a bitter taste and Lux should be subject to review."

If the cost of repairing a leaking garbage disposal is close to the cost of replacing the disposal, then fixing the unit might not make sense. Your garbage disposal will only affect the health of your septic tank if you’re using it too frequently, or filling it with organic waste that doesn’t fully break down. If the tank fills up with too many solids, the bacteria won’t have enough time to consume it before more is added, which can lead to an overflow in the drain field. Your tank will need to be pumped more frequently with excessive or improper garbage disposal use.

The main issue with garbage disposals is clogging. This can mean a clogging of the pipes that expel the food along with water, or a clogging of the mechanical parts themselves. The problem lies in the solution because you can’t easily see clogs if they’re inside the system, and reaching in to dislodge stuck items is a risky proposal. Call a pro and ask what they would do, but if you can’t see the clog easily, and running the unit won’t free it, you need to let a professional handle the fix.

For example, rubber has a shorter lifespan than 10 years, connections and hoses loosen over time, and sink flanges can cause leaks that have nothing to do with disposals.
