"It had been some time since my gutters were properly maintained, and I needed not only to have my gutters cleaned, but also have any necessary repairs made.

I was looking for a service provider who was local to my area and able to respond in a timely, professional manner.
After taking some time searching out and contacting a few cleaning and repair services to compare prices, availability, and service level, once I spoke with owner/operator Vinnie Squitieri of V & C Gutter Cleaning and Repair I felt confident that this would be the provider I needed owing to his enthusiasm, experience, and stated commitment to do the work with the care and integrity that I desired.

I was pleasantly surprised by the courteous manner in which the entire job was handled from start to finish, as well as the professional and courteous demeanor that was exuded throughout the entire process.

When the work was completed time was taken to point out what was done relative to the cleaning and the repair.
The job was done in a maticulous manner; all debris and material was properly disposed of and the result was not only a more asthetically pleasing appearance, but also the peace of mind I was left with assured of the greater efficiency of the gutters around my home.

Thank you V & C !

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

The best and fastest way to remove paint from a deck often involves combining a chemical stripper with a pressure washer. Gel-based paint strippers are highly recommended because their thick consistency makes them less messy and easier to apply than liquid strippers. After applying the stripper to loosen the paint, you can use a pressure washer to efficiently wash away the residue. When using a pressure washer for this task, it's important to use a low pressure (under 1000 PSI) to avoid forcing too much moisture into the wood, which could lead to mildew or rot.

The best way to sand a deck is by cleaning it, sanding the boards and stairs with 60- or 80-grit sandpaper, and sanding the railings and posts with 80-grit sandpaper. You should sand in the direction of the wood grain to avoid damaging the timber. When sanding your deck, use medium pressure and aim for an even sand. Pressing too hard with a sander can damage decks, as most are softwoods.

Decks require several inspections during and after the building process, but the specifics vary depending on where you live. Most areas mandate that decks comply with local building codes and safety regulations for the foundation, framing, and structure. Some pros recommend a footing inspection, which verifies the depth, width, and location of the various footings to ensure they offer enough foundational support.

Yes, deck footings typically require an inspection before laying down concrete. While not all local building codes require footing inspection, proper placement ensures a safe and structurally sound deck. An inspector will verify that the deck can adequately hold what you put on top of it., and that the footings have been dug to the correct dimensions.

The cost to build a deck around a pool typically ranges from $3,000 to $12,000, depending on the size, material, and whether you tackle the build yourself. Most people pay an average of $5,000 for their pool deck project. Hiring a pro to build a pool will cost you more for labor, but it will be worth it to ensure a safe and secure installation.
