"I am very pleased with the work completed yesterday. This company did an excellent job, was very efficient and left my house clean. The drywall repairs were so nicely done it hardly needs painting. A very skilled craftsman!"

"They did a great job on the roof at a reasonable price in comparison to the other quotes I received from other big name companies. Roof was a 20 year old and need an update. Appreciate, the straight to the point sales pitch. Constant communication throughout the process. Happy with the job thus far. Will continue to monitor for any issues."

"Excellent work, professional and very friendly.  I would recommend to anyone looking for power washing services.  I have larger stucco house with large deck and patio.  Steve and Ray did an outstanding job.  They walked the property after they completed service with me to ensure I was satisfied.  I highly recommend this company."

"I hired Dominic's Painting to paint the entire exterior of my old (1700's) colonial home in the Summer of 2017. This was a very big project and they did such a fantastic job that I hired them once again to paint (and wallpaper) the interior of my house in late 2017. I was totally satisfied with all the work that they did. They were punctual, hardworking and very professional at all times. I had gotten several other job estimates before hiring them and their price was the most reasonable for the work. John is a pleasure to work with and I have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone who needs either interior or exterior paining done. I particularly recommend them for the difficult job of painting an old home. My home needed a lot of plastering and special care and nothing was a problem for them. They went above and beyond my expectations-always ready to do anything that was needed. Check this company out before you hire anyone else!"

"Pat Quinn was excellent to deal with. I wasn't sure what type of patio I wanted out front. Pat came with pictures, suggestions and prices during our consultation. He explained the entire process & got back to me promptly when I had questions. I highly recommend!"

"

I bought a deal for Joseph Sullivan Professional Painting in January of 2013, but never got around to trying to schedule the work until the coupon had almost expired in July.  Joe was happy to still honor the coupon even though the work itself wouldn't be done until after it expired.  He came out soon after I contacted him and gave us an estimate and offered to start the work a couple weeks later but we actually weren't quite ready for that.  We tried September but his schedule and ours weren't good.  Same thing happened with October, so we set a date for November, but then Joe asked to push that back one more week, which is when the work was actually started.  I mention all this not so much as a criticism but to point out that Joe is generally pretty busy with his work so it's best to try to schedule things well in advance.  In terms of dealing with the rescheduling Joe was as accommodating as he could be, even initially contacting me during his honeymoon!  He also offered me a deal on paint because he had made a deal with a specific brand, but we had already picked out our colors in another brand.  He was still able to get us a discount for that, though, through his contracting relations with Home Depot.

Once we had the work scheduled, they came to the house on time and everyone was very professional and friendly.  They moved the furniture as necessary and made sure to protect it, and they cleaned up at the end of the day (they did ask to leave the furniture where they put it for a day or two so they didn't have to move it all again, which was very understandable).  They painted two coats on the walls in the living room, along the stairs, and in our small "hallway" (really a landing) upstairs. They also patched a crack down the middle of the ceiling in the living room and painted the whole ceiling, and filled in any holes in the wall (unless we asked them leave them for re-hanging things).  We had them do a single coat in the dining room since we wanted to put a second layer ourselves, and they also painted the baseboards in the living room and dining room and along the stairs.  We were very happy with the quality of the work.

As a side note, my wife accidentally scratched the bumper of one of the workers when she pulled our car out of the driveway, and he was extremely understanding and didn't even ask for any compensation for the minor damage.  Just an example of the kind of people Joe employs.

Overall it was a great experience and I'd definitely hire Joe in the future, and recommend him to anyone who needs painting done.

"Overall it was a bumpy ride, but the end result is very good.  I feel the supervisor was basically absent from the job, and clearly did not ensure the crew understood exactly what was to be painted.  I had to inspect and supervise the job from start to finish, and ended up having to bring them back twice to finish the job because areas were either not given a second coat, or were missed altogether.  The end result is fantastic, but only because I was such a stickler and made them come back and fix things to my satisfaction.  I would still recommend them because their price was great as compared to multiple other estimates, and the quality of their work is strong, as long as you are willing to stay on top of them and inspect thoroughly.  Throughout the job, they were very respectful, friendly, and cleaned up after themselves very well."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Hiring a contractor or professional deck refinisher is the best way to ensure your deck is properly stained. They have the expertise, tools, and supplies to do the job quickly and efficiently. However, staining a deck is a manageable task for most homeowners, and doing the job yourself can save money. Just keep in mind that DIY staining is a long process requiring physical strain, so it may not be the best option for everyone.

DIY is possible but presents risks of uneven surfaces or improper adhesion; professionals offer expertise to ensure a lasting finish.

Adding a second coat of stain to wood can even out the color to some extent, but it won't drastically alter the hue if the initial application is too light or too dark. It's more effective at enhancing the richness of the color rather than significantly changing it. Ensure the first coat is dry before applying the second.

Various kinds of substances and deck preservatives act as protective coatings for wood to prevent rot, which is caused by water getting into the wood and creating cracks and splits. Stains, paints, and sealants are the three best options to protect your wood, but there are also oils, varnishes, and waxes available. You’ll need to reapply sealant at least once per year, and you should inspect your wood deck regularly to look for signs of damage or general wear and tear.

It’s important to make sure the wood on a new deck is properly seasoned. Seasoning a deck is simple: Once you build it (or have a pro do so), just leave it alone so it can acclimate to the environment. If you don’t give the deck proper seasoning time before staining, the stain can lock in any lingering moisture and cause mold, rot, and other moisture issues down the road. Give the wood at least four to eight weeks to season before you stain.
