Small jobs welcome

"I recently moved into a new home in Middletown and needed some new carpet. I’ve never had to have carpet installed in a home so I had lots of questions. Roberto got back to me in a timely manner and made everything very easy for me. I appreciate that the only real job I had in it all was picking the style of carpet that best suited my family and I. Communication was quick and easy and he was very professional. I’ll definitely be recommending his services to family and friends."

"Warm, friendly and professional, would best describe our experience with Simon Rayon and his team. This company isn't adverse to taking on small jobs and completing them in an expediant fashion. Quite creative as well, displaying impressive skills in problem solving with this specific job. Needed a custom section of wood floor trim to be used as a carpet transition strip, between a bedroom and the hallway, where an old seam would no longer stretch long enough to hide the seam itself. Simon created the transition strip on the spot with a sample of some wood flooring planks I had been holding as back up. Quite impressed with Simon's abilities, plus we were not charged a penny more for this additional work, which was not part of the original quote that was also quite reasonable. AAA++++ HIGHLY RECOMEND!"

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

You can expect your carpet protection to last about six months to two years. It will last longer in low-traffic areas (compared to busy areas, where your carpet experiences more wear and tear). Once the protector wears off, you’ll need to call your carpet contractor to reapply the stain protection treatment and revive your carpet

In most cases, you do not need to put padding or underlayment under carpet tiles. Unlike traditional carpet, which requires a separate pad, carpet tiles are designed to be installed directly onto a firm subfloor like plywood, concrete, or tile. Many carpet tiles come with a built-in underlay and attach with peel-and-stick adhesive, double-sided carpet tape, or glue. For a more comfortable, cushioned feel, especially in residential settings, you can opt for padded carpet tiles that have a thicker underlay attached. While it's generally not recommended to install a separate pad, a compact underlayment might be used in some situations, though this typically requires professional installation. An acoustic underlay may also be considered in commercial spaces or multi-level homes where noise reduction is a priority.

In most cases, laminate flooring is better for people with dust or other allergies as laminate is easier to clean. Carpet can trap pollen and other allergens, allowing them to be kicked up into the air again with foot traffic. Consult your flooring specialist about the best types of carpet or laminate flooring to use based on your household member’s needs.

Carpet tiles are less expensive than traditional carpet. The average cost of carpet installation is $1,800, or $3 to $11 per square foot. In comparison, carpet tiles cost $2.50 to $11 apiece and can often be bought in bulk cartons. Since you can more easily DIY carpet tiles, you may be able to save on installation costs, too.

Yes. When installed properly, the strong adhesive on carpet tiles keeps them in place while also allowing homeowners the flexibility to peel up an individual tile and replace it if they need to. It’s important to keep in mind that the adhesive on your carpet tiles may take some time to cure, so it’s best to leave them alone for a couple of days after you first install them.
