"We decided to commit with East Coast Patios after seeing their work at a good friends home. Our friends only have the best contractors for their home improvements. We were able to choose any texture, color and shape of the pavers displayed in the catalogue at the same price. The cost of the entire project was competitive and included managing any obstacles such as moving sprinkler heads and underground down spout extensions. The cold weather conditions did not matter as Juan and Gregorio stayed on schedule to recreate our front porch and lay down the path to our newly erected trash/recycling storage shed. We have a durable and attractive front door patio, a path with garden border and bin storage that adds curb appeal and utility to our home."

"Pros: It went well, and the overall quality is good - they offered alternative solutions other contractor estimates did not (to help lower the cost). They take pride in their work and are willing to go the extra mile for satisfaction, even after work completion. Cons: We put our deposit in and signed a contract a few months before the job, and it wasn't until a week or two before the job we found out the material was discontinued (after we already selected paint color and floor design from separate contractor) We were forced into their schedule, after noting certain restrictions we had with working midnight shift. (for items like inspections and lingering things after the "scheduled" work was complete)."

"Great! We are very happy with Phil Thistle and his team at Basement Gurus. They were very professional and efficient. Our basement, which had been flooding with every heavy rain, is now bone dry! Their price was very competitive and it was a pleasure to work with their company. Highly recommend!"

"It went Great! I placed a call and they came out that same day to give us a quote. We agreed on the scope of the job and cost. They started the work on the day they said they would. All the workers were courteous and professional. Throughout the project they kept in constant communication about what they were doing and any questions they or we might of had. The project was completed on time as promised. My wife and I are very pleased with the results. I definitely plan on using them again in the near future.

Gazebos questions, answered by experts

Fascia and soffits differ in their location and design, but fascia vents are the most popular alternative to soffits. These are a bit more hidden than soffits, but depending on the structure of your roof, they can cost more to install and maintain. They are also installed around the entire roof, whereas soffits can be placed only where you need them or, if the aesthetics bother you, somewhere out of sight.

The main purpose of a gazebo is to provide a covered space for people to gather comfortably. They’re an excellent place for summertime get-togethers because the roof protects you and your guests from the sun. However, gazebos can also serve as a design feature, adding a bit of charm to a backyard or garden.

Porticos last 25 to 60 years, depending on the material used. A portico’s roof typically matches the roof of the rest of the home and can be replaced simultaneously. Portico columns have a similar life span if properly maintained and regularly sealed. In some areas, harsh weather and extreme temperatures may cause a portico to wear more quickly.

On average, building or installing a gazebo costs around $5,700, with a typical range between $3,000 and $10,000. The final price depends on several factors, including the gazebo's size, shape, material, and design complexity. Material choice is a significant cost driver; for example, brick is often more affordable, while metal can be one of the more expensive options. Square-shaped gazebos can also be more expensive to build. Custom features, such as built-in seating or lighting, will increase the total price. You may be able to save money by purchasing a prefabricated gazebo kit or performing some of the labor yourself.

Yes, many gazebos are permanent structures built onto the land. However, if you have a portable gazebo that isn’t secured to the ground, you’ll want to check the manufacturer’s instructions to understand when to put it away. Generally speaking, when it’s particularly windy or wet outside, you should take down your temporary gazebo.
