"Landscape installation crew was very professional. Very happy with completed landscaping. However, 2 holly bushes located at front door suffered severe winter burn. One holly is 25% green w/75% dead leaves. Company refuses to honor its warranty which "covers all trees & shrubs for 1 yr. from installation. Warranty doesn't cover shrubs that don't survive due to failure to provide normally accepted horticultural planting care & maintenance (ie. lack of sufficient H2O, storm damage or damage done by someone or SOMETHING. Customer's responsibility to notify company within warranty period if any shrubs aren't thriving. Warranty limited to 1-time replacement." At 1 yr., holly is not thriving, though it's alive. Two garden centers & UCONN said it'll take several years for plants to recover. Company refuses to replace plants claiming they fall under the "something" part of the warranty. Rep. said they'd "lose their shirts" if they replace all plants that suffered winter burn this yr.!
