"Pacific Stone and Tiles came to measure and showed about 6 choices for granite selection for the offer price. We were working with our own interior designer and we were on FaceTime with her. She nixed the 6 choices so Pacific Stone showed us another granite which was from India and was mostly white with few markings and some reddish-brownish highlights. The effect of this Indian granite was white and it coordinated nicely with our maple cabinets. Our interior designer told us to choose that and we agreed to pay Pacific Stone $1000. more for this granite from India. No name was given for this new granite in writing. When the day of installation came, the old countertop was removed. I did not think to go out and look at the granite in the truck before installation. The installation was done very efficiently and very nicely. However, the countertop did not look like what we were expecting. The color effect was gray with many markings. We were expecting a whitish granite and got gray. I asked to see the original sample that we had been shown when we selected the white granite but they did not have it on the truck. I contacted Pacific Stone and they emailed me a photo of what they said was the granite sample they showed me, but it did not look what they showed me. The granite we got was called moon white on the final bill but it had no name on the original invoice we signed. I made a number of inquiries about the discrepancy between the granite color we expected and what we received. Pacific Stone said there are natural variations in the appearance of each granite variety. However, we paid $1000 more because we thought we were getting the granite color we and our interior designer viewed and chose. I don't think I got the granite we selected and feel I paid $1000 too much. I now have to figure out how to get the granite to coordinate with the maple cabinets as well as regretting that I paid $1000 more than I should have."

"Oliver did a great job for us. He provided a quick and competitive quote for having two doors replaced. He did a great job installing them and even came back to install the self closing hinges that the manufacturer didn’t provide. He was polite and friendly and will use his services again."

"Since Karol and KBK construction had previously renovated two bathrooms in our home, we felt comfortable with having the work done while we were on vacation. We arrived home to beautifully done hardwood floors, sparkling white trim with new doors and new overhead lighting. The final price was as quoted. we couldn't be happier with the job."

"

The project went seamlessly from start to finish. All materials were described. It took one full day for several men to do the entire roofing. They prepped better than any job I have seen, covering all areas where debris would fall. At the end, they did a thorough cleanup including a wide area inspection with a magnet to retrieve any aberrant nails.
During the process, I heard very little banter, no foul language which often accompanies work groups, and noted that the working supervisor gave direction as a team.

I was hesitant to purchase this work at such a bargain, but thankfully I went ahead  based on my faith in Angie's list. it was a job well done!

Granite Restoration questions, answered by experts

Unfortunately, the product Bar Keepers Friend won’t remove etching from stone countertops. In fact, it can make it worse. Bar Keepers Friend contains oxalic acid, which can cause further damage to natural stones like marble or limestone.

No, you cannot use vinegar to polish marble. It is too acidic for cleaning or polishing and can etch the surface. Instead, opt for non-acidic cleaners made specifically for marble. Follow the manufacturer’s directions to ensure proper application and to protect the marble. However, a damp mop can be an effective marble cleaner when used appropriately and as long as moisture is immediately soaked up.

You generally cannot change the color of the natural stone, such as making granite countertops darker or lighter. Some people claim that certain chemicals will lighten or darken granite, but those will damage the stone and not provide uniform, expected results, so it’s better not to try. Similarly, some people ask whether they can stain over granite. Granite is beloved for its stain-resistant finish, so you probably won’t get the best outcome if you try to stain over granite to make it darker.

Instead, consider honing, painting, or applying another material over the top of the granite to make it appear darker.

Maintenance includes regular cleaning with appropriate products, periodic sealing to protect against staining and wear, and addressing minor issues before they escalate.

Services typically take 2-4 hours, depending on the area size and floor material.
