"OUTSTANDING!!!!! Everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional!! The men they sent to do the actual install were clearly hard working and competent. With the exception of a brief lunch break, these guys worked non-stop........and this was a 3 day job!! There was no fooling around, talking on cell phones, etc. And the finished product was far superior to what had been installed 20 years ago by a different fence company. Highly recommend these wonderful folks if you want a well done, pro job!!"

Privacy fences in residential neighborhoods tend to stand between 6 and 8 feet tall, but local building code usually dictates the maximum height. Livestock fences that border large land plots range from 3 to 6 feet. Shorter, decorative fences, which are common in front yards, are around 3 feet tall, on average. There are many pros and cons to vinyl and composite fencing. Both fencing types offer longer lifespans than wood fencing, with some notable advantages. Whether one is better for you will depend on a few factors. Composite is better if you prefer recycled materials, while vinyl is extremely easy to clean. 

Also, consider the disadvantages: vinyl can be more expensive, while composite fencing fades during the first six months.

Ideally, when you replace a fence post, you should also replace the concrete footing. The concrete bonds to your new post, creating a secure base. If you install a new post into old concrete, it won’t be as sturdy.

That said, it is possible. Sometimes the post will lift right out of the concrete. If not, you can use a high-lift car jack to try and lift the pole out of the footing. Put the new post into the same hole and backfill it with fast-setting concrete. Keep in mind, this won’t work well for metal posts.

There are two things you can do to make a fence replacement easier—but keep in mind that easier doesn’t mean better. First, you can use a jack or some other type of machinery to pull the post out of the ground. If that’s not available, a digging bar can help.

Second, you can backfill the hole with gravel rather than creating a concrete footing. Keep in mind, gravel is less secure. You should only use it if you’re installing a lightweight fence or have heavier, clay soil.

The best wood for fence posts are redwood, cedar, and pressure-treated pine. Wood posts made from these materials will typically lasts between 15 and 30 years, depending on the specific type you choose and your local climate. With proper care and maintenance, a fence post made of these materials can withstand most weather conditions.
