Bathtub refinishing refers to the entire process of resurfacing a bathtub. Reglazing is one step in the bathtub refinishing process. To refinish a bathtub, a refinishing professional will clean the tub, protect the surrounding areas, remove the existing glaze, sand and prepare the surface, apply the new glaze coating, caulk the tub, and replace the fixtures.

Surprisingly, cleaning an air bath is almost as easy as relaxing in one. Most air baths have a self-cleaning or drying cycle to remove moisture from the inner tubing. This prevents mold and keeps the tub ready for your next soaking session. For deeper cleaning, use mild soap and a soft cloth to wipe the surfaces and periodically clean the air jets as the manufacturer recommends.

Acrylic tubs are extremely durable and rarely chip or crack. Even when frequently used, tubs made with this material are largely resistant to damage. However, damage may occur as the tub ages. They can also crack from damage from heavy objects and cleaners or a lack of support.

If your Corian® countertop begins to appear dull or dirty, or you notice scratches on the surface, you can return it to its original finish while maintaining its look. To do this, repair any scratches with a repair compound and sand the surface after it dries. 

Then, use an orbital sander with either a 100-, 30-, or 15-micron disc and finish with a hand pad (like Scotch-Brite™ 7447 or 7448) or lamb’s wool bonnet and automotive cutting compound for a matte, semi-gloss, or gloss-finish, respectively.
