"Global Garage showed up on time for the site visit and explained the process of installing an epoxy floor. I was proved a quote at this meeting and accepted the quote. The work was then scheduled. Global Garage showed up on the scheduled date and did a great job (complete the project in one day). Very satisfied with the finished look of my garage. Thank you Global Garage."

"Scott and his crew were awesome and we plan to hire them on future paint jobs. Scott is very flexible, easy to work with, follows through on scheduled commitments, and works fast without comprising quality. Scott ended up with doing a little more work than outside the original scope of work and he was able to squeeze it into the schedule. He and his crew are reliable, honest, and professional. Overall, we had a very positive experience."

"Dave took a lot of time getting the colors and shapes perfect, and the eyesore is now an attraction. Everyone thinks that it is flagstone. It has been durable and low maintenance. Over the years, we have had a couple of cracks develop (in the underlying decking- not the resurfacing) and Dave has repaired them and blended them masterfully."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Epoxy coatings for concrete basement or garage floors are popular. These two-part resinous coatings are waterproof and highly durable, making them an ideal choice for high-traffic spaces or areas where spills are likely. However, epoxy flooring costs more to apply than concrete stains and doesn't produce a natural-looking finish.

How do I epoxy a garage floor?

To epoxy a garage floor, you need to measure the area of the floor, remove all items from the garage, thoroughly clean the floor, and then follow the manufacturer’s instructions to mix and apply the epoxy. Learning how to epoxy a garage floor can save you between $4 and $7 per square foot on labor.

When you are laying hardwood flooring—or any other material that does not flex well with humidity—you will want to check the moisture level of your subfloor before proceeding. Flooring like luxury vinyl tile and bamboo performs better than more rigid materials in environments where moisture might be present. However, thorough testing is always an excellent preventative measure to control and monitor water in your home.

New flooring costs quite a bit, so longevity is important to think about. Concrete generally has the longest life span, but it’s not always a good solution for homes with wooden subfloors. That said, hardwood floors and stone floors can last up to 100 years, and you can refinish or restore them to remove imperfections from daily wear.

The cost to seal concrete is around $1,500 on average, but you could spend anywhere from $1,000 to $7,000, depending on the type of sealer used and the size of the space. You may want to seal concrete that receives a large amount of foot traffic or heavy wear. While you can seal concrete yourself with materials from a home improvement store, you must ensure the surface is clean and ready to accept the sealer. Hiring a professional is often recommended to ensure good, even coverage that provides adequate protection.
