"Excellent service from everyone at Mold Busters - from the estimate through completion of the mold remediation in my basement. Very fair pricing. Hopefully, I won't need mold remediation again, but if I do, I Definitely will hire Mold Busters!"

"I called to get a quote on basement mold remediation. They arrived the same day I called, and 2 workers showed up on time to do a walk thorough of my basement. They did not try to sell me on services I did not need and in fact, gave me tips on how I could do the mold remediation as a DIY project. They were professional and honest ... values you do not see in many contractors these days."

"Green Home solutions is a God send. The home I bought had mold from in the attic main level and basement. Dustin gave me such a good price, half of the other quotes. They came right out and within two days all the mold was gone and my new home smelled great! I have the peace of mind that my family is safe! And best of all the product is a non toxic enzyme and Dustin guarantees the mold will stay gone!!"

"for $50 we had an initial reading done, bought two Aerus Angel Air Scubbing/Purifying units, and now we can breath easily in our home again after a severe mold problem in the home was partly remediated (so far). The service was professional, prompt, and detailed. The products were worth the price for our health."

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

It is generally not safe to live in a house with smoke damage, as even minor damage can pose long-term health hazards and structural risks. While it might seem safe temporarily depending on the severity, you should relocate if there is major damage or visible soot. Smoke smells and residue contain dangerous particulates and chemical compounds, including carcinogens, that are hazardous to breathe and can cause respiratory issues. These signs of damage are not always visible but can have dangerous short-term and long-term effects on your health, belongings, and your home's structural materials. You should not stay in the house until a trained professional from a smoke remediation or restoration company has assessed the damage and determined it is safe to return. Your insurance company may cover the cost of alternative housing while the professional work is completed.

Common areas include insulation, flooring, ceilings, and siding in older buildings. Professionals identify potential risks.

Powdery mildew is exactly like it sounds—a widespread mold that looks like baking soda or talcum powder. It’s usually seen on plants and spread in warm climates, which is why many people first discover this issue in their home greenhouse. Over time, plants have become resistant, but if you see it spreading, baking soda and water can eliminate many cases. Otherwise, consider neem oil or fungicide.

Yes, if there is mold in your drywall mud and you then use it to build walls in your house—or if mold develops in your set drywall, like it can in hot and humid areas—it can lead to illness. Mold in your drywall (or other parts of your home) can make existing respiratory conditions or allergies worse, and the effect can be more intense for those who have existing health issues or compromised immune systems.

A funky smell is the first indicator that mold or mildew is present in your home. You may also notice that you or your household members are suffering from increased allergies or respiratory issues. You should check the most obvious areas first—like your bathroom or anywhere there might be leaks—and if you still can’t locate the source, look under the floorboards.
