"From the initial cleaning and safety inspection of my chimney, to the two days of major repairs, Flue Tech was professional, competent, caring and amazingly efficient. Their years of experience and Angie’s list ratings made me confident in contacting them and that confidence turned to trust as a result of their first visit to my home and subsequent work. Mike and Dave arrived at my home at the scheduled time and proceeded to clean and inspect my chimney. Following a lengthy and illustrated (pictures were taken) inspection, Mike discussed his findings and outlined options, seeking to contain cost without sacrificing quality or safety. He confirmed what I had already suspected, that my leaking chimney had several structural problems which required attention. Agreeing on a course of action, with an itemized list of steps and cost to remedy the situation, I scheduled the work. Flue Tech’s office kept me apprised of work dates and confirmed arrival times of the work team each day. Kevin and Dan (the work team) arrived at my home and made sure I understood every aspect of what they would be doing over the two day period. They treated my home as if it was theirs, carefully covering and taping all areas in the vicinity of the fireplace and, when entering my den from outside, used shoe covers to avoid tracking in any debris. I watched as they patiently and professionally worked on the chimney in oppressively hot weather conditions. They were totally focused on the work making sure each task was completed according to plan and always going the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied. Their cleanup was extremely thorough and before leaving Kevin provided pictures of the completed work and asked if I had any questions or concerns. He told me to contact them should any issues arise. It was a true pleasure working with these two professionals. Flue Tech is now my “go to” company for all chimney related work and I give them my highest recommendation."

"Chimney experts was very professional in both scheduling and the job. Al was very thorough to not only look at the chimney, but also to stay with me until we had fully built a fire and had it burning long enough to run a full test of the appliance. Would highly suggest for inspection and installation- they know the business well."

"The technicians showed up the next day to give us a quote, and then (once we agreed to the quote) they were able to start work immediately (same day). They installed a chimney cap, sealed two other old chimney pipes (no longer in use), sealed the stone of the chimney itself and also installed a flexible crown seal. It was more than we thought to have done on the chimney, but the peace of mind is worth it. They finished in about 1.5 hours and did a great job. Would hire again."

"Saul did an excellent job. Went above and beyond what we have become used to with other chimney sweeps. He inspected our chimney from the roof down the chimney and liner and also inspected our furnace chimney. And he took pictures of it all. Then explained what we were looking at and how to go about getting it fixed. I definitely reccomend Saul."

"I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I thought I had a relatively simple repair on the exterior of one chimney. Turns out that the linings in both chimneys were cracked and deteriorated badly, including the flue to the furnace. These were replaced and the fireplace interiors were sealed. The Top Notch people are excellent, explained everything carefully and a real pleasure to deal with. The quality of the work couldnâ t be better at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them."

"We hired Quality 1st to clean two chimneys that were in terrible shape, install new dampers, and removed an old wood stove. Oscar and his team were polite, knowledgeable, and professional. They called me back immediately to schedule an estimate and provided. a timely, detailed quote. Oscar even went out of his way to check on a possible safety issue for us. Quality 1st arrived on time and had everything installed and cleaned up in just two hours. We appreciated how careful they were with our floors and rugs. The pricing was quite fair and Oscar stuck with our original quote even though we needed an additional repair. Oscar is reliable, honest, and a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Quality 1st."

"I was in the middle of repointing the chimney on our 130 year old house only to find we had no chimney liner! DJ came to the rescue and in a pinch so our masonry contractor could keep going. Not only did he get us in quickly, he was the best price and completed the job properly. I highly recommend DJ for your chimney needs."

Chimney Liner Installation questions, answered by experts

Both above ground and inground pools can have pool liners. Inground pools made of gunite don’t need pool liners, and you’ve probably walked along an unlined pool and felt the ripples and ridges on the floors and walls. But adding a liner over gunite or other pool types helps protect the wall panels from algae growth.

A pool remodel can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months, with a typical project often lasting between four and eight weeks. The final timeline can vary significantly depending on several factors, including the project's scope, the size of your pool, the complexity of the renovations, design inclusions, the availability of materials, your pool remodeler’s schedule, and weather conditions.

If you’re wondering how to find a leak in an aboveground pool, the process is the same as it is for an in-ground pool. Note that the vinyl liner in aboveground pools is fairly thin, so sharp objects easily puncture it. Additionally, the liner can wear down after constant exposure to pool chemicals, especially when chlorine levels are higher than they should be. For these reasons, small holes in the vinyl liner often cause leaks, but you can easily detect them with the dye test.

It’s best to avoid having wrinkles in a new pool liner. Since pool liners are very thin, it’s easy to have slight wrinkles in the liner upon initial installation. This might negatively affect your pool’s visual appearance and lead to tearing and holes in some cases. You’ll want to ensure proper measurements and accurate alignment during the installation process to prevent unsightly wrinkles from appearing.

Yes, you can DIY a pool liner, with careful planning, measuring, adherence to a step-by-step process, and a few helping hands to get the job done. Keep in mind that the type of pool liner you choose could impact how easy it is for you to install. For example, beaded and J-hook liners hook to the edges of the pool either via an allotted bead receiver or hook. Overlap liners don’t use clips and can easily drape across your pool frame without an exact fit.
