Small jobs welcome

"House beautifully painted with odds and ends masterfully fixed around the house: woodpecker damage, flashing on the chimney, broken spindles on the porch, and splitting wood trim. Paul Enterprises is a professional, aiming to please, and attentive to detail company. Owner Bill is honest, upfront, and easy to work with. Given the hand painting work, it took a little longer than a spray job. Although the price was a little high, the end product was well worth it."

"The owner Bill came to see the job in February winter time, I did interview few more companies but he was very acknowledged about my project and concerns. Called him back again mid April for a second interview and go over more details, he was very puntual with his appointment. I hire him and signed the contract he told me my deck will be finished by May 15, 2019, Well my deck was finished today May 2nd. Very happy with their work everything was cleaned very well and my deck looks just beautiful..Now need to wait couple months to stained. Will recommend 100% to family and friends. Thank you Bill.. "Tim Conway has done work for me for well over a decade. He has Tim Conway haspainted the exterior of my house. He has painted many interior rooms. He has treated and re-stained wood doors and wood work that has never been painted. He does quality work. He shows up when he says he will.Occasionally, I have asked him to do redo or modify something, and he is always very willing and very responsive. I trust him implicitly and allow him to work in my house when I am not here."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

A wood deck requires annual cleaning and regular inspections for loose or broken boards, nails, and screws. It should be refinished by applying a stain or sealer every two to three years to protect the wood from water damage, rot, mildew, and sun fading. The exact frequency can depend on the climate and the deck's exposure to sun and moisture. If your deck is painted, it will need repainting approximately every 10 years. Signs that your deck needs refinishing include faded, splintering, or warping boards.

It’s best to use an exterior latex acrylic paint to promote maximum adhesion to composite decking. This flexible paint type can better cope with the natural expansion and contraction that can occur with composite deck boards. Oil-based paints won’t adhere as effectively and are more likely to crack and peel as the boards flex. Testing whether your chosen paint will stick on an inconspicuous section or a spare board is a good idea.

Avoid using cleaning products that are abrasive or contain bleach or acidic components on composite decking to avoid discoloration. Early-generation Trex decking isn’t designed to handle pressure washer cleaning—and if you use them on second-generation boards, always use a low setting to avoid the risk of damage that can risk voiding your warranty.

Liquid rubber is great for waterproofing, but it can damage your deck if it’s not applied correctly. First, it can trap moisture in the wood if the deck isn’t completely dry before application.  Second, applying it too thickly can create a heavy, rubbery surface layer that peels and cracks under fluctuating temperatures. For the best results, ensure the wood is completely dry before application, and apply the liquid rubber in thin, even coats. A quick inspection every now and then will help you catch any issues early, keeping your deck protected and looking its best.

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.
