"I was very impressed with David's responsiveness and every member of his crew was a pleasure. They completely removed the kitchen floor (and several layers of subfloor) in my 100+ year-old home, made repairs to floor joists and installed new flooring that looks beautiful. It was an evolving project and I appreciated the team's flexibility and speed with which they completed the project."

Removal of a piano, desk, mattress and boxspring, computer, dresser, and trunk was done expertly. Excellent service and consideration. I highly recommend him."

"My husband and I just moved to Norwalk, and we were in dire need of fall clean-up and leaf removal. It would have taken us days to rake and remove the leaves ourselves. Julio and his crew did an absolutely fantastic job cleaning up our yard and did so for a very fair price given how much work there was to do. I will definitely be using them again for our lawn care needs. Not only do they do excellent work, but Julio is personable, professional and honest. I would highly recommend him to anyone!"

"Bryan was professional and courteous; he arrived when he said he would for both the initial consult and the actual job, and he and his team did a fantastic spring cleanup. I will definitely hire him for future projects."

"Joel was very kind and knowledgeable during his free quote. Not only did he listen to my project needs but also took the time to teach me about the plants and proper lawn care so that I could do things daily or weekly. After hiring him his team was professional and did an excellent job and completed this project beyond expectations. I would highly recommend Joel and his crew!"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

It is safe to remove old linoleum, but it may require the help of a specialist due to the risk of asbestos in the material. Before you cut into linoleum or try to peel it up, have it tested for asbestos. If it tests positive, professionals will need to remove it to prevent the risk of health issues from airborne toxic particles. If it’s asbestos-free, DIY removal is possible and safe.

Hazardous waste is waste that poses a threat to human or environmental health. This generally refers to waste that is flammable, corrosive, toxic, or reactive. To confirm if the waste you need to remove is considered hazardous waste, contact your local hazardous waste facility.

You should ask a few questions to ensure that your potential lead removal professional is experienced and qualified to handle lead-paint abatement safely, legally, and properly.

  • What are your qualifications and experience removing lead-based paint?

  • Are you licensed and certified to remove lead-based paint?

  • How do you test for lead paint?

  • What methods do you use for lead-based paint abatement?

  • What do you plan to do with the hazardous material when you remove it from the home?

  • Do you do replacement and painting work or removal only?

Embarking on a kitchen demolition comes with its share of risks to keep in mind. Think of potential encounters with asbestos, sharp objects, and power tools—not to mention the peril of structures wobbling or unexpected plumbing surprises. And, of course, you will be surrounded by dust and debris throughout the process. All of the above makes safety gear necessary, or you can consider hiring a qualified professional.

You can sell a house with lead paint, but there are several requirements. If you are aware that lead paint exists anywhere in the home, you must disclose that to potential buyers. Required home inspections will often uncover lead paint, especially for older houses where lead paint may still be a problem. If you have taken steps to encapsulate lead, you should provide buyers with full documentation of the project so it won’t cause any problems later on.
