"Do you know how hard it is to find a vendor in Fairfield County that does great work and is very fairly priced? I cannot say enough great things about Jason and his company. I got four prices for installing ceiling fans and Jason beat them all by about $500. Moreover, he is as first class as they come and his work is very neat and meticulous. Do not waste your time shopping around. Jason is your guy. You will not regret it."

"Phenomenal job installing a whole-house fan. Arrived on time, did a great job on installation and did a professional job of cleaning up after themselves. Price was fantastic too - can't rate them highly enough."

"I first use Mocarski Electric in 2017. Had some new kitchen counters installed and Jerry replaced a non-working backsplash outlet, a second outlet, and a light switch for over the sink. Very quick and responsive! Then several months ago, I finally had him back to fix an electrical outlet in my dining room - one that had NEVER worked in the entire 20 years I've been in my house. Quick, dependable, expertise and his pricing is more than fair. Am going to have him put in two ceiling fans this summer in spots where there currently aren't fixtures."

"Dave was very meticulous and neat when rewiring a switch and ceiling fixture that was set up for a ceiling fan light to a simple chandelier. He was extremely courteous and professional. I appreciate the fact that he wore booties to cover his shoes! I would highly recommend his services and would hire him again for future electrical work.

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Coffered ceilings often come with additional embellishments and accessories, including tin panels, medallions, trim, molding, recessed lights, and finials. Whether you’re looking for a simple grid pattern or want an elaborate, decorative ceiling with all the bells and whistles, there are plenty of options to choose from.

Yes, you can install a ceiling fan where a standard light fixture is, as the electrical wiring is often similar and may not need to be replaced. The most important step is to ensure the ceiling can support the fan's weight and motion. You will need to replace the existing light fixture's electrical box with a fan-rated electrical box, which is specifically designed to handle the extra weight and vibration. These boxes will be labeled as suitable for ceiling fan support and will indicate the maximum weight they can hold. Before you begin, also consider if you need an extension rod for a high ceiling or a special mount for an angled ceiling.

Hiring an electrician to install a new ceiling fan may be the best course of action. Installing a ceiling fan requires basic electrical and mechanical knowledge. It also requires holding it up with one hand and in an awkward position, making the installation even more difficult. If you’re uncomfortable with these circumstances, your best bet is to hire a professional.

Ceiling fans require periodic cleaning of blades to avoid dust accumulation, checking screws and connections for firmness, and occasional lubrication for components, keeping the fan running smoothly and quietly over time.

In short, no. You can use the square footage range chart in this article to determine the right size ceiling fan for both indoor and outdoor spaces. However, weather elements can damage types of ceiling fans that aren't designed for outdoor use, so your ceiling fan should be weather-resistant if you plan to install it outside.
