"Saul is a consummate professional, incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and hardworking. He thoroughly inspected my fireplace, the crawlspace where my boiler/furnace are, and the chimney from the roof. In explaining the job to me, he also provided some tips for a more efficient use of my fireplace. He gave me an extremely good quote on a substantial chimney rebuild, and came to do the work the next day. Over two days, Saul worked tirelessly to rebuild the chimney, and left the area immaculate afterwards. He is coming back in a few days to install a new cap and to clean my fireplace and and oil flue as part of the job. I had two roofing companies out to my house the next day and both raved about how good my chimney looked. How much it costs you to run your bioethanol fireplace largely depends on how often you use it. Hypothetically speaking, if you run your fireplace for four hours a week year-round, you’ll go through one liter of biofuel per week or about $570 per year to run the fireplace.

You can use a fireplace with a broken damper, but only if the damper is in the open position. If not, your fireplace will not properly vent smoke outdoors. You should not use Windex or any other ammonia-based glass cleaners when cleaning the glass doors or glass front panel of a gas fireplace. Instead, remove the glass and lay it on a soft surface, like a drop cloth or towel. Then clean it using a specialty fireplace glass cleaner purchased at a hardware store or online. If the glass is relatively clean, you can get away with a vinegar and water solution, but tougher stains will require a specialized cleaner.
