We offer residential mold inspections, air quality testing for molds and allergens, and radon measurements. We're BBB Accredited and for the past three years have been awarded the BBB Certificate of Customer Satisfaction and Excellence! Our mold inspections evaluate both external and internal conditions of your property and identify when there is mold. We utilize air quality sampling and surface sampling to identify the types and concentrations of mold spores using accredited 3rd party laboratories. Our inspections also identify conditions that could cause mold in the future and can save thousands on expensive remediations. In the event of a small mold contamination, we can remediate to return the area to a pre-mold healthy condition. For larger remediations, we can refer you to a number of excellent remediation companies that we work with. Our radon measurements use state of the art CRM's (Continuous Radon Monitor) that provide important data on radon levels within the environment. We also offer Electret ion Radon measurements for longer term measurements, or for those looking for a slightly less expensive solution. We're fully insured, certified and licensed and we educate our clients while we go about our business! This has been very well received as we believe our clients want to understand just what they're paying for and it helps prevent future issues. Check out our services offered and call or click to schedule an inspection or measurement today!

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

Make it easier for your inspector to do a thorough assessment by preparing your home ahead of time. That includes:

  • Noting any signs of pests around the home

  • Removing obstacles in the way of the attic, basement, plumbing, garbage, and other key areas that inspectors will need to access

  • Keeping children and pets away from inspection areas

Repiping your home creates a large mess, and you won’t have access to water while your contractors are working. To prepare, contractors will cover the floor and furniture with drop clothes. In some cases, they may move furniture to protect it and get it out of the way. They’ll then cut holes in your walls, floors, and ceiling to expose the existing pipes.

They’ll also turn off your water, but they’ll leave at least one bathroom and the kitchen functioning at the end of the day. You’ll need to plan accordingly.

The short answer is yes. Room additions almost always increase a home's value. But just how much they increase it varies by the materials you choose, the type of room you build, and other factors. For instance, adding a sunroom will yield you a 49% return on your investment, while adding a primary suite results in a 63% return on your investment.

The person who requests the inspection should select the inspector themselves. This way, there are no conflicts of interest, and the inspection report offers an objective, unbiased look into the condition of the property.

Inspections for new construction may not be legally required, but you should consider them a must if you’re buying a new home. The quality of the construction can vary widely by builder, and many inspections, even for brand-new homes, can uncover problems with framing, structural components, mechanicals, appliances, and more. Professional inspection reports give you leverage to push the associated repair costs to the builder rather than paying for them yourself, so they’re always worthwhile, if only for the peace of mind they provide.
