"My bathroom was a disaster I let it go to rack and ruin. I got a estimate from TLC Flooring, I talked to Mr.Marteen Hanania who gave the estimate we talked about the job, what needed to be done and how long it would take. I am not normally comfortable with people I don't know ow in my house but Marteen and his crew made me feel at ease, comfortable. Ok back to it. Martin and his crew were friendly informative professional They finished the job early and the job defied my expectation walls floor ceiling were remodeled beyong my expectation. I would highly recommend TLC and Marteen to everybody so strongly I am thinking about having"

"They were extremely professional leaving the work area at the end of the day cleaner than when they started. He was extremely patient with installing the backsplash making it perfectly straight even around windows and corners. Pricing was extremely reasonable and I’m planning on hiring them for fireplace tiles and basement flooring."

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

You can get away with stretching the carpet with some remaining items of furniture, so long as you have ready access to the parts of the carpet that require maintenance and you are not stretching through the furniture, as this leads to tears and fraying. Try to remove at least 50% of the furniture if you can’t remove it all.

There are many types of carpet repairs that you might experience in your home, depending on the activity level in your home. Snags and tears are relatively common, especially if you have pets or tend to move furniture around often. Some other carpet repairs you might need include:

  • Burn damage

  • Water damage

  • Pet damage

  • Loose carpet

  • Severe stains

Carpet stretching can be a worthwhile investment to increase the lifespan of your carpet and eliminate unsightly wrinkles, ridges, and ripples. For an older carpet that is in relatively good condition aside from some wrinkling or bubbling, restretching can make it look like new and extend its life by at least a couple of years. You should consider restretching when you notice looseness or other related issues.

However, it's important to note that stretching will not fix issues like stains, wear in the pile, or discoloration. Consider replacing the carpet instead if the repair cost is more than 50% of the price of a new one. Additionally, if your carpet is past its expected lifespan of five to 15 years, or if it has been stretched multiple times already, replacement is likely a better option.

Carpet tiles are less expensive than traditional carpet. The average cost of carpet installation is $1,800, or $3 to $11 per square foot. In comparison, carpet tiles cost $2.50 to $11 apiece and can often be bought in bulk cartons. Since you can more easily DIY carpet tiles, you may be able to save on installation costs, too.

Standard padding works like a sponge. It absorbs liquid, soaking up every drop of moisture that hits it. Moisture barrier padding does the opposite because it has a waterproof coating made of plastic film, rubber, or treated foam. It doesn’t absorb spills and keeps them on the surface instead, so you can clean them up before they damage your subfloor.
