When you have an issue with your house, no matter how small, it often stays in the back of your mind making you less comfortable in your own home. Tacking these subtle stressors for you is often where I feel most at home. I have experience in the twin cities as a remodeler and in the greater Hartford area as a residential handyman. If you ever need a local handyman please do not hesitate to reach out :) No job is too small or insignificant. I love seeing homeowner's dreams become a reality whether it be a fully-fledged remodel or a small yet meaningful renovation. Projects I have tackled for clients (To name a few). - Decks - Flowerboxes - Light Electrical - Interior Wall Construction - Drywall Repair and Install - Wooden Gates and Fences - Door Installation (Exterior and Interior) - Painting (Interior) - Trim (Interior and Exterior) - And an Amalgomy of Odd Jobs! I am so blessed to have the opportunity to use my passion and experience to help my community. I love how every client brings a unique perspective to each project. During my projects, I often not only gain new experiences but also get to make some new friends :) Please do not hesitate to let me know how I can best be of service to you. Thank you for your time!

"I was wonderful working with Daniel. He listened to what I wanted done and did all jobs quickly."

Advanced Custom Carpentry is a single member LLC which is very similar to a sole proprietor except for the legal business entity. I, Seth Arzt, work alone most of the time. If necessary I will hire subcontractors especially if there is plumbing or electrical work done as I am not licensed in those areas.

Grace Builders, llc has been providing professional service and quality workmanship since March of 2000. We have completed hundreds of projects with varying complexity and are considered one of the top building and remodeling companies in Hartford County

"Stay far away from Kevin Grace Builders. We hired him to renovate two full bathrooms. Things started out Ok but then he just disappeared. He stopped returning calls and texts. We had to involve a lawyer to sever the relationship. We hired another contractor and learned that a lot of the work was substandard. Do research on how many times he has been sued for similar before you consider hiring him."

Dock Building and Repair questions, answered by experts

Docks can last between 20 and 30 years, provided regular maintenance has been performed. Upkeep tasks like staining your dock annually to prevent water damage, repairing broken elements quickly, and using dock covers regularly will help extend your dock’s life. Your dock is likely nearing the end of its lifespan when it shows signs of rot, rust, and foundation damage.

Here are a few other considerations before you build, even if you're convinced you're in compliance with the law:

  • Are you damaging the environment? Bodies of water are often delicate ecosystems, and building a dock can be destructive and disruptive to the wildlife.

  • Are you blocking access? Lots of people like to use a lake, so you need to make sure your dock doesn't block public access to the water.

  • Can you enclose the dock? Just because you can build a dock doesn't mean you can build any dock you want. Some areas don't allow enclosed docks, for example.

  • Do you need to follow any specific rules or guidelines? Check with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management for any guidelines you’ll need to follow, including size and type restrictions.

Bulging walls, cracks in the seawall's top or side, and the appearance of a seawall "pulling away" are all signs that you need repairs or reconstruction. The area around the seawall can also provide clues. For instance, you may notice water bubbling over in areas of your yard if your seawall has holes or cracks. The soil around the seawall may also appear to be sloping or sinking.

Regularly inspect for structural issues, clean debris, and apply sealant to protect from water damage.

Yes, professionals can replace damaged flotation devices to maintain proper dock buoyancy.
