"They did a good job installing the fence, coming out for a quote and then installing in a timely fashion. Kurt, the owner, is a pleasure to deal with. He knows the busienss and is an excellent business owner who truly values his customers. Different options were provided for our fencing needs, which was definitely appreciated (without any attempt to upsell - just providing options)."

"We called for an estimate, Frank was there that same day, we hired them and the next day they arrived at 6:30 pm and got the job done! He was the man that came up for the estimate and the one who did the job with his brother and dad. We called other companies for quotes and either they never returned the call or couldn’t come to give us an estimate for a week or longer! They were extremely professional and had answers to all of our questions! A family-owned business is the way to go! Highly recommend them!!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

A fence installer or homeowner should place a snow fence upwind of the desired drift area, while keeping the prevailing wind direction in mind. When installing a snow fence, its posts should be sturdy, as they will be the weakest areas in terms of tensile strength. Posts should be buried at one-third their height and placed no more than eight feet apart.

In the vast majority of cases, chain-link fences are less expensive than wood fences. Installing a wood fence costs anywhere from 20% to 30% more than a chain-link fence, or an average of $3,100, whereas a similarly sized chain-link fence will average around $2,400. Even with add-ons and additional protective finishes, a chain-link fence is very likely to cost you less than a wood fence. The only exception would be a split rail wood fence, which can cost about half the price of a chain-link fence or less.

The most affordable metal fence type is wire at just $3 to $5 per linear foot. Wire fences come in a variety of styles and do a good job of marking perimeters and keeping animals in or out of certain areas. While they’re very easy to install and repair, many homeowners find them unattractive, and many homeowners associations won’t allow them.

Wattle fences are typically around 4 feet tall, but they can be built taller or shorter depending on their intended use. Taller fences may require additional reinforcements, such as thicker posts or tighter weaving, to ensure the fence’s stability and durability against wind and other elements.

Lattice should not touch the ground, as it creates a possibility for rot and a termite infestation. It’s best to leave a gap of 3 or 4 inches at the bottom for airflow and to keep the wood dry. You can add stones, bricks, or other decorative pieces to conceal the bottom of the lattice if desired.
