"This company is great at what they do. Used them twice. They helped removed asbestos tile and mold from my basement. They were quick, clean and most importantly got rid of the "bad stuff". They did such a good job the first time that I called them again when i unfortunately found mold in my crawl space. Both times eradicated all traces of mold. Would gladly use them a third time if needed!"

"Vernon responded immediately (in the evening) to the Home Advisor inquiry and he was available for lead paint testing and provided a report quickly for a city building permit. I hired him again for follow-up asbestos testing. I am thankful for his responsiveness (the permit process has been challenging) and feel confident that he is advising me on what is needed and not creating extra or unneeded work. Highly recommend."

"Tim was great. A complete professional. He helped fix our bacteria problem and gave instructions for how to manage the problem after. He was awesome to work with and I will definitely call again if I need help in the future. I would recommend Water Fire Fix, LLC to anyone in need of mold testing and remediation!"

"We were selling our house and found out there was mold in the attic. Michael came out, told me what would need to be done (and just as importantly, what would not need to be done), checked to make sure the cause of the mold was gone and gave me an estimate that was below the other contractor I had out. Michael was able to schedule us relatively quickly which was important for the sale and Charter Oak's guys did a great job. They were respective of our home and cleaned up so well after themselves, you wouldn't know they had been there - except for the nice clean wood in the attic. There were some concerns from the buyer and Michael was willing to talk to them to explain what was done and why. Very happy."

"Ronaldo and his team did an exception job. They went beyond the expected in everyway. They worked neatly, showed up on time and did great work. They are especially skilled at caulking and repair work. They transformed old and beat up rooms into fresh, clean and beautiful spaces. I have dealt with many contractors over the years and A and A ranks at the top. I give them my complete recommendation."

Lead paint removal costs about $3,600, ranging from $1,500 to $5,800, depending on several factors, such as square footage, removal method, and its location in your home. Keep in mind that lead paint removal costs $8 to $17 per square foot, ensuring a permanent and maintenance-free fix.
Additional cost factors for lead paint removal include:
Location
Materials and equipment needed
Disposal method
Accessibility
Surface types
Repairs needed
Labor
Professional lead-paint abatement companies use a variety of methods to remove lead-based paint, depending on each particular situation. Some of the most common methods include:
Total removal: $8–$17 per square foot
Demolition and replacement: $1,000–$15,000 per project
Encapsulation: $4 per square foot
Enclosure: $10 per square foot
Chemical stripping: $10–$17 per square foot
Professional testing for lead paint costs about $300, ranging from about $250 to $700, depending on the square footage, accessibility, and location. However, testing for lead paint with a DIY home-testing kit costs about $25, but doesn’t guarantee accurate results. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends using a lead test kit that complies with the Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Rule, which has strict criteria for ensuring a more accurate reading.
Common home surfaces to test for lead include:
Walls
Windows
Doors
Molding and trim
Railings
A professional lead paint removal company should remove any lead-based paint from your home. You should not remove or paint over it yourself because handling lead-based paint poses health risks, according to the EPA. Professionals trained and certified to handle lead-based paint abatement use specialized equipment like HEPA vacuums and methods like chemical stripping and abrasive blasting to remove paint and particles as safely as possible. They are also trained on how to properly dispose of lead-based paint material.
You should ask a few questions to ensure that your potential lead removal professional is experienced and qualified to handle lead-paint abatement safely, legally, and properly.
