"I highly recommend Classic tree Service! These gentlemen were on time, polite, and even recommended specific trimmings for my trees to keep my yard looking nicer. They cleaned up well and hauled everything away, even smaller dead twigs that had fallen off previously. They looked like they worked well together and truly enjoy what they do."

Lyon Tree Care

"We've used James with Lyon Tree Care on 2 occasions. The first time we had dead trees in our residence in Colorado Springs. There were 3 large dead trees that could've come down on our house. There is not much room between our property and the neighbor's. Without a hitch, the trees were brought down and did not cross the property line. It was exceptional. The 2nd time was at our rural mountain property. We had a tree approximarely 60 feet tall. It was a dead pine tree that would have eventually taken out the power lines and our house. The winds can get high at 10,000 feet in elevation and it was scary to watch that tree sway. James came out and like the expert he is, climbed the tree and began cutting it down from top to bottom. We couldn't take our eyes off of him. It was awesome to watch him work. He literally saved our house. I would recommend him time and time again!! He's also worth every penny and is reasonably priced."

"We have used Absolutely Green for the last couple of years and are very pleased with the service received. Our yard wasn't terrible beforehand, but it did need some care from weeds, winter-kill, etc. Lawn is green and plush and we have no regrets choosing to go with Rich and his team. Hoping to continue the relationship for years to come."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The costs vary from $250 to $5,000 per tree, depending on the size, complexity of the trimming, and labor.

Most plum trees are pruned into a vase or open wine glass shape. They’ll have a shorter central leader (the trunk) that supports three to four main branches. Of course, this isn't always the case. If you have a European plum tree, you can grow it in a pyramid shape. Let the central leader extend the length of the tree and prune smaller branches to create the pyramid.

Tree experts don’t advise against digging through tree roots, but instead encourage caution and consultation with a local arborist to make sure you don’t damage the tree’s structure or interrupt its water or nutrient intake. An arborist can recommend specific practices when digging and help prune the roots or dig a trench for utilities with a tool that can remove soil without touching the tree’s roots.

Any tree that needs to be pruned should be pruned to remove dead branches at least once a year. You may need to prune far more often if you’re trying to maintain a certain shape or to save a tree that suddenly becomes infected.

Some fast-acting products can rot a tree stump in four to six weeks. Keep in mind, these products contain harsh chemicals that may prevent regrowth in the area. Other products, like fertilizer that contains lots of nitrogen, can enhance the process and rot a stump in about a year. (This is compared to the ten years it can take naturally for a stump to rot.)
