Hortus did a great job trimming my large Aspen Tree, they were so professional, kind and quick with their amazing! I would highly recommend this company for your tree services, they are great!

My parents got their tree cut by Hortus tree and landscaping. They were super kind and helpful at the start. They did Cut all the branches down that needed to be down. However , their lack of concern for cleanup is non existent. We have called them 3 times to come and grab the remaining branches and as soon as they were paid they continuously ignored us. I spoke to their office, And ask to speak to the manager. And the employee said manager is not in. Their office Assistant. Showed complete Blatant Disregard for the lack of job that was not completed. I told her I was gonna post a one star review until the job what's done And she responded with."Sir you do what you have to do" I responded with "ma'am, i don't want to do what I have to do, I want you to do what you got paid to do". I'm a fair reviewer and im ranked in the top 10% of Google reviewers. If they make this right, than I will rewrite and change my company review. I did advise the company that if they do not complete the clean up by the end of the week.I will also report them to the better business bureau along with utilizing my marketing and advertising degree to expose this company for who they truly are! I don't think it's a unreasonable request to expect this company to complete the job that they originally received payment for. So in regards to the rude office lady, who apparently needs customer service training, please be the hero in this story and come complete the job that was never completed to began with.

They did a great job and for a great price. They were also very friendly and kind each time I spoke to any of them.

Turf was put in and overall not bad but have not fixed the seam as requested. They were able to get the turf done ahead of schedule because of a cancellation in their schedule. They did not come back on the original schedule date to finish the rest of the work. I never received a call and when I finally called later in the day I had to leave a message and did not get a call until later that night. I explained the situation and that I wanted a refund of $238 that was left over from prepaying the turf. I still have not received the refund. I have never received a call back to discuss the issues or how they could fix it.

Poor customer service. Would not recommend

The workers were very nice. It took one half of the day to be completed. They left the area real clean, they left it fine. They notified us and explained what they were doing.

They workers were very nice and it took about 1/1 day to do all the trees. They cleaned up the debris very nice. they notified us to explained what they were going to do. They have been doing this fora long time.

He is an excellent arborist. There is never any problems when working with him. Nothing was trampled, nothing was ruined. He has been an instructor and does really good work. He is not only an arborist, but also a horticulturist and an educator. He is a good guy all around.

I was pleased with the expertise of the estimator, the service and attitudes of the workers and the price was great. There was difficulty with communications. Messages were not relayed, calls not returned, follow through was poor. However, they were flexible and willing to work around also having the driveway repaved during some of the same time period. They were also willing to come back to remove a couple of additional small trees along the driveway. I had to request a couple times for them to come back to grind stumps, which was part of the original contract. Though having to keep calling was frustrating, eventually all work was completed satisfactorily.

It is the best I have found in the springs. I have used them over the years 3 or 4 times and their service is very good. They did a good job they cleaned up after they were finished. they are very good. The owner is very knowledgeable and a very courteous individual.

We have a tree in our front yard that has been looking very sick and spindly for the past few years. I called Hortus for advice about the best thing to do with it, and an estimate for the cost. The man who came was obviously the owner of the company and he spent a long time looking at the tree, touching the trunk and leaves, and then crawling around under it and poking into the ground in order to try to understand the problem.
He could have sold me almost any service, for I was fearful that the tree was dying. He said it seems to be going through a difficult period due to the extreme dry weather we've had the past few years, and he recommended that I wait and see how it does next year. I questioned him about trimming it and he said he could send his crew if I really wanted them to do that, but he would still prefer to wait and see if it does better with regular watering and some time for self healing.

I was very impressed with his honesty and willingness to save ME money, rather than just making more for himself! I will DEFINITELY call on him for all my future tree and bush problems.

OVERALL: I'm satisfied with the actual work, but I wish they kept me better informed and I didn't have to call them. The price was the best of 4 estimates that I had gotten over the past few months, and I'd use them again if they had the best price as well the next time. The workers who came to remove the tree were polite and tried to clean up the area when they left. I think there would always be a lot of wood chips and sawdust in the lawn, and they did clean up most of it. The stump grinder did remove the big pine tree stump to ground level like I wanted. I'm happy w/ the overall service and would recommend them.

The estimator arrived promptly when scheduled and provided a written estimate. We thought it was a bit expensive just to prune a tree but decided to hire them because: (a) we were unhappy with a different tree service's work we had used years before, (b) their city permit was up to date (according to the COS website), (c) they had insurance and offered to provide proof, and (d) mostly because they had satisfactorily removed a 50 foot cottonwood tree a year and a half earlier (although our cedar fence sustained some very minor damage from a falling branch, the supervisor immediately stopped work and brought the damage to my husband's attention, offering to repair it).
Based on the care that was taken before, we decided to hire Horton. We were surprised when the actual "arborist" arrived - late, claiming he was a tree doctor in a different country and turned our leafy tree into a "horticultural poodle". The main branches were stripped of small sprouts while leaving plumes of leaves at the ends. I was furious when I returned home in the evening to see most of the already thin canopy cut away.
I am not an arborist or even an experienced gardener ,so I hoped this was a trimming style that would take time to appreciate. It is not. The weight at the end of the branches resulted in many of them snapping off in high wind, especially weakened by the drought conditions. After 2 years and high hopes, I still have a tragic looking tree that I will have to pay someone to try and trim again and hopefully save. So, if you have a dead or dying tree, they were good at that aspect of tree service. Would I hire them to prune another tree? Absolutely not.

From estimate through cleanup, they did an excellent job. It started snowing while they were cutting down the tree to be removed, so did not complete the cleanup that day. They returned early the next workday and completed cleanup. cleanup included chipping all the branches that had been cut from the trees
