  • El Toro Construction LLC
Gustavo and his crew did a total interior transformation on my home! New kitchen and bath cabinets with granite countertops. Incredible and unique tile work on floors and backsplash. A shower with marble and stone accents. Hardwood floors were restored This was a 1960's house that has been completely refreshed. El Toro's Gustavo and crew did every job that other contractors had declined or would have sent to outside providers.. They even added an unexpected fence project when those December winds tore up the town and took out the old fence. These guys are the best!! They can do everything with great skill

The owner Haley Martin was prompt and the quote was fair. They did an amazing job and I would hire them again.

  • The Landscaper LLC
A few years ago we found an incredible landscaper. His name was Thomas and his company was sort of new and we trusted him with our home landscaping. Thomas did a wonderful job! Then he did the same incredible job at our new home in 2015! Thomas is so good that when we wanted him again he was simply busy with all the people who found out about his awesome work. I got upset that Thomas was too busy and wrote a bad review when I wanted him again. I want to say how sorry I am publicly about that review and simply say, if you get a chance to hire Thomas do it! Thomas is the very best you will find out there! I mean, 'absolutely the best'! Thomas I hope you will forgive me and keep up that awesome work that you do

  • REM Tree Service
The tree cutting was absolutely fine. They did exactly what I wanted and I made a mistake for giving them money before they're supposed to come back and I know there's bad weather but they keep on having horrible communication skills.

  • DeAngels Concrete & Landscaping
What a fabulous team! We have used Dave and DeAngels for two big projects and look forward to the next opportunity. The team is friendly, fast, professional, and VERY hardworking! They have gone above and beyond for us twice now. They have my strongest recommendation.

  • REM Tree Service
Absolutely terrible experience, I wish I could choose less than 1 star. I strongly recommend you read this and then move on, I can't imagine any tree company in Colorado Springs could be worse than these guys. If you do choose to work with them, I would not give them a dime until the work is 100% finished to your satisfaction. I requested a quote and Rick was extremely responsive. I told him I would need time to make a decision and that I would get back to him, but starting two days later he called me 5+ times a day. When I didn't respond to his satisfaction he went to the home where the work was to be done and talked to our renter, which I had specifically asked him NOT to do. He pressured our renter, an elderly woman, to call me while he was standing there, and then to give him the phone number of another member of my family. Rick contacted that family member and aggressively pushed to accept his proposal. Against my better judgement my family member agreed to work with him based on his promises. The day the work was to be done I met Rick at the property, where he immediately requested to be paid fully in advance, and when he found out I was going to pay him with a check and not cash (he had never communicated that he expected cash), he asked me to go to the bank and get cash. I was not comfortable with that and after much push back and debate, Rick said they would complete all of the work that day if I agreed to pay him when finished. Rick and his crew then did about 2/3 of the tree removal work, at which point it was late in the day. He said he would come back the following morning and finish, including removal of all debris. He asked to be paid at that point so he could pay his day labor crew. I made the mistake of trusting him and doing so because I was not going to be able to be there in person the next day. That was 5 weeks ago and ZERO further work has been done, I have had half finished trees and large piles of debris in the yard ever since. At first Rick answered my calls and gave me excuse after excuse, making empty promise after promise to finish the work. for the last couple of weeks he won't answer my calls nor respond to my messages. I also left him a message from the Angi app, which was not responded to. I have a signed contract for the work, detailing the number of trees and stipulating that a full cleanup/removal would be done. To this point 2/3 or less of that work has been done, and Rick has been paid in full. I know this is not the kind of business Angi wants to be associated with. Personal note to Rick: This review could have been avoided if you had simply finished the work you were paid in full for, as you promised over and over again, after excuse after excuse. You claim to be an "honest, good guy" and you tell a great story, but so far you have proven to be anything but. It's not too late, you can still do the right thing - you can honor your word (and contract) and finish the work you were paid in full to do. If not I will be compelled to pursue legal a legal remedy against you... and your partner Jeremy. If you think I'm going to just let this go, think again

  • Precision Tree
I don’t normally write reviews, but I feel as if I was utterly ripped off by this company and would like to warn others. In January I obtained 3 bids for removing a large, dying silver maple and several smaller trees. The bids were similar and ranged from $2000 to $2300. The bid from Precision Tree was $2150. Although it was not the lowest, I accepted it because David, the owner, was able to offer me the soonest removal date. The appointment had to be postponed several times due to inclement weather. David knew that I was desperate to have this done quickly because of landscaping work that is scheduled to start at the end of March. On March 15th, several of his workers arrived, promptly told me they were subcontractors and would not touch the work for less than $4000. I felt as if I had no choice but to accept because the landscaping work was only two weeks away and to get another tree service to perform the work would likely be a wait of 6 to 8 weeks. David refused to stand behind his estimate, or even negotiate a lower rate. I had to call him with a different phone number to even get him to pick up the phone and speak with me. Only after I filed a complaint with the BBB did he lower it to $3500, still over a $1000 more than the original estimate. This is an absolutely despicable way to treat someone and I feel as if I have been the victim of a bait and switch scheme. I would urge you to avoid doing business with this company

I may actually have the beat looking yard in the neighborhood. They put in a garden and deck. I was a pleasure working with them

  • Precision Tree
The crew of 4 showed up early on the re-scheduled date (weather delay) and work was completed in less than 2 hours. Did the debris clean up myself, they were appreciative. Great job.

  • Genesis Group LLC
The project started about 2 weeks later than we had agreed and took about a week longer than expected (about 4 or 5 weeks overall). I didn't consider this to be a big deal and is not uncommon in the industry. Once the project started, Genesis was great. Their Project Manager for this project, Bryan, was onsite every day for at least 30 minutes (normally longer) and easy to work with. The crews were professional and typically onsite from 0730 to 1700 with very occasional weekend work. I monitored the progress of the project throughout and caught several mistakes (this is very common in industry), and the Genesis team was always very quick to correct any problems that arose with a good attitude. Overall, the work turned out great and my wife and I were very pleased. The experience was fairly low-stress due to the Genesis Group's professionalism and strong work ethic. I could tell the team took pride in their work and at the end of the project we have a beautiful backyard we are very happy with

Tree Service FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to remove a tree?

Answer: Typically, tree removal costs between $200 and $2,000. Tree removal costs vary widely based on the number of trees being removed, the height of each tree, the diameter of each tree trunk, and accessibility to the tree. Smaller trees are usually less expensive to remove than larger ones, as are those that are more easily accessible.

  2. Do you need a permit to cut down a tree?

Answer: In many areas, you don’t need a permit to cut down a tree on your own private, residential property. But some municipalities may require tree removal permits for conservation purposes or to comply with local ordinances. When you hire a tree removal pro, they’ll be able to tell you whether you need a permit for your specific tree removal project.

  3. When is a good time to trim trees?

Answer: In most regions, the best time to trim your trees is during the winter months. During the active growing season (spring through fall), trimming your trees can leave them more vulnerable to disease and less likely to thrive. During the winter months, when trees are dormant, trimming them will cause less stress and leave them ready to grow again in the spring.

  4. What is the average cost to cut a tree down?

Answer: Tree removal costs between $200 and $2,000 per tree. Establishing an average cost can be difficult because each tree will be assessed and priced based on factors like height, trunk diameter, and accessibility. In general, smaller trees cost less to remove than larger trees, as do trees that are more accessible.

  5. How much does it cost to service a tree?

Answer: The cost to service a tree is typically between $430 and $1,320. The cost to service a tree depends on several factors, including what exactly you’d like done, the tree’s height, its health, the location of the tree, and local labor costs. The national average cost for tree services is $865. Tree trimming isn’t necessary for all trees but can improve their health and longevity by encouraging new growth.

  6. What is the difference between tree trimming and pruning?

Answer: While tree trimming and tree pruning might appear similar to the untrained eye, they serve different purposes. Tree pruning is used to thin a tree by removing unnecessary or burdensome branches. Tree trimming promotes healthy growth by trimming but not removing branches.
