"Thrasher did a good job on the basement foundation and installation of new sump pump. A little pricey. Workers were prompt, courteous and cleaned up when done."

"The initial interview and project scoping meeting was a pleasant experience. Matt Gowler is a true professional when it comes to planning. He wanted to know how the space was to be used, who would use it, what our expectations were and special requirements. He drew up a plan that was perfect for us.The construction went like clockwork on the schedule our project manager Ben set up. We were kept informed of progress regularly and all of the materials vendors we met with were fantastic. Picking out cabinets, counter tops, carpet, tile, and paint colors was quick and easy. Their promise was done in 45 days or less and they were done in less than 45 days with a 900 square foot basement. They contacted us today for a followup check of anything that needed to be fixed. They were very pleasant to work with and we were not bothered by workers at all. Ben coordinated everything and made sure it all went right.

"

My appointment was scheduled to occur between the hours of 12:00 and 2:00 on April 3rd.  I had a call from the technician about 11:00 indicating he had finished a previous job early and asked if he could come on to my home for the scheduled appointment a little early.  I readily agreed and about 15 minutes later the young man arrived.  (I'm sorry I can't remember his name.)  He introduced himself and then went right to work.  I explained my concerns about the toilet I showed him and, with a new part and some adjustments, the problems were resolved.  I asked if he could look at another toilet located in a bathroom in my basement.  He was very willing to do that for me.  It was a pretty old toilet and used more water than the newer ones do so the technician made an adjustment to cut down on the amount of water it would use but made sure it would still flush adequately.  I then asked questions about possible cost to replace the older toilet and also about the possible replacement of a free-standing shower that is located in the same bathroom.

The technician took the time to get a book of price lists from his truck and gave me some tentative pricing.  I was very impressed with the young man who represented Around the Clock Plumbing.  He was patient as well as knowledgeable and made me feel like my questions were important.  I sure got my money's worth and will definitely use this company again.

"Good results.  I knew that I would have to replace everything since it was pretty old water heater and nothing up to code.  Quote was very complete, as I had read the reviews of others and knew what would be needed.  Install was quick with 2 men.
They asked me briefly if I had a water softener and never pressured me to buy one.
Had to ask them to walk me thru draining procedures and how to re-light pilot if needed, as well as maintenance schedule. Would recommend to others for new water heater installs....

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on the area's size and condition, damage extent, and chosen method. A professional evaluation provides a tailored estimate based on specific needs.

Yes, outside leaks can easily cause damage to your home if you don’t have waterproofing measures in place. Regularly check your property for signs of a leak, ensure your home’s landscaping is at least at a 5% slope, your basement windows are sealed, and you have an aligned gutter system to catch rainwater.

“Basement waterproofing” sometimes refers to applying a waterproof sealant to basement walls, in which case you would use a waterproof paint, often made of latex. However, there are many methods you can use to waterproof a basement, including exterior drainage systems, interior drainage systems, dehumidifiers, and more. As such, the materials you use can vary depending on the methods you use.

A plastic vapor barrier should completely cover your basement to prevent water from penetrating through the walls. This typically goes before installing insulation to prevent moisture from building up and becoming trapped on the inside of your insulation, where it can collect and lead to mold damage. Installing insulation after the vapor barrier allows for any moisture to exit the walls for better ventilation.

A sump pump can remove excess moisture from under a house if standing water is present. Other ways to protect your crawl space from moisture include installing a vapor barrier, using a dehumidifier, installing insulation, and using a fan to dry the space. Finally, keeping your gutters clear of debris and positioning your downspouts away from the home’s foundation can prevent moisture from getting into the crawl space in the first place.
