"I was genuinely surprised that Kind Home Solutions did not ask for money up front before they started the project. They used the brand of paint we wanted (Benjamin Moore) and had the ability to either spray or hand-roll-and-brush. We knew it would cost more to have our house painted using the hand-roll-and-brush technique, but it was not so much more that it was out of our budget. There was some wood work that needed to be done before the house and shed could be painted, which was very reasonably priced for good craftsmanship. There are bushes growing close to my house, which I trimmed away from the house but did not have to do anything else to allow for the painters to have enough working space. They used their ladders to pull the bushes away, with no damage done to the bushes. When they did the final walk-through, there were no complaints about the things that needed to be touched up. I think the most impressive part about the whole experience was the time they took to do the proper measurements, talk to us about the schedule and to quickly get the exterior painted. Overall, they did a great job."

Customers say: Quality work

"Cruz and his family were great to work with from day one and they did much more than landscaping. The property was a mess before I hired Cruz but now it's amazing. They graded and landscaped both the front and backyard, installed an irrigation system, and put in back and side patios. When the fence company couldn't install one in a timely manner to align with the landscaping, Cruz offered to put up the fence and price match. The work performed was very high quality. Even after the job was complete Cruz has been responsive to all questions and any help I've needed. I would recommended Cruz to anyone needing landscaping."

"The project involved replacing the mulch, weed liner, and, rock around the home. Its been 14 years since the landscaping was refreshed. There was also an issue with the rock that was placed along the fence line for drainage along with an issue of drainage behind the garagel. The rest of the project was freshining up the mulch and trimming some bushes back. Rock N Block came out and did measurments and a quick drawing of the work to be done and then followed up with an email listing the costs. Almost all of the other estimates were just verbal quotes. Rock N Block came in much lower than the other quotes (maybe because it was early in the season). I accepted teh quotes and they came out to clean out the mulch and rock along with trimming and removing some bushes. The following day they put down new liner, mulch and rocks. The result was exceptional and I will consider them for working on the lawn next year."

"The men that came to trim my trees did a great job. They were thorough and listened to what I wanted done. They also did a good job of cleaning up after they finished trimming the trees. I would hire them again in a heart beat."

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can conduct your own leaf removal, but consider that keeping up with leaf removal is time-consuming and requires regular yard work throughout the fall. The process can take a few hours a week. Professionals have lawn equipment that can speed up the process and save you time. Additionally, consider how you’ll dispose of the leaves. If your sanitation company won’t pick them up—especially if you have many bags from a once-annual cleanup— you’ll have to drive the bags to the dump. It’s usually easier to leave the work and disposal to a professional leaf removal service.

The best way to clean an overgrown yard is to create a multi-stage game plan, from clearing out the debris to cleaning up the edges around hardscaping and landscape curbing. Get rid of yard debris like worn furniture and broken tools first, then start trimming and raking what’s left. Mow the grass, trim the hedges, and rake leaves away. Once that’s complete, move on to more detailed work, like pulling weeds and replanting gardens.

Unless you plan to use a dump trailer for business purposes, it will be hard to justify the cost of buying one. Even a small, used 6-by-10-foot model could set you back as much as $5,000, and larger, high-quality models can cost up to $15,000 to buy brand-new.

Many recycling facilities accept asphalt shingles and then process and reuse them in various applications such as road construction and pavement. Before recycling, remove any nails or other metal components from the shingles to avoid contamination. If recycling facilities are unavailable, you can dispose of asphalt shingles at a dumping site, but homeowners should check local regulations and guidelines for proper disposal procedures. Hiring a professional roofing contractor experienced in eco-friendly disposal methods can ensure that your asphalt shingles don’t just end up in a landfill.

Yes, you can absolutely make your own mulch, and there are a few ways to go about it. First, you can lay down pine needles or mulched leaves if you’re mulching in the fall. In the spring and summer, you can use mulched grass clippings. Alternatively, you can lay down a few layers of newspaper in your garden and gently wet the paper to keep it in place.
