Pruning a tree is a yearly DIY job that involves removing small dead branches, leaves, and blooms to help the tree grow bigger and stronger. Larger trees could take as long as one or two working days, about eight hours each.

The main disadvantage is that many types require warm climates, so if you live in a cold region, you need to ensure you pick a palm that can withstand the freezing temperatures. Another downside is that maintenance can be difficult because of their height, which means you will need to pay a pro to prune the tree as needed.
