"I hired Rudy to remodel two bathrooms and spruce up two decks. He did a great job. The bathrooms were full remodels, converting tubs to showers, redoing tile, and updating the vanities. Rudy was reliable, timely and stayed on budget. He communicated well throughout the project and did high quality work. I'd use him again for future projects and recommend him to others."

"Jose and his assistant did an awesome job installing tile to our bathroom and wine bar area. They were very professional, courteous, and easy to work with. They masked off the areas where the tile was beign installed so there was no mess to cleanup. They delivered as promised and were very timely, from quote to completion. "Seven months in and my floors still look brand new! Patrick installed hardwood in the majority of my house. I had never worked with him before, but I'm glad I did. They were fast, clean, and professional. I am still thrilled with these floors and the workmanship put into them. Plus whatever top coat he put on has proven pretty life proof, even with a dog."

"Ben came early, assessed the situation, and gave me an estimate. He managed to get the garage door to work for me until he could finish the job. He obtained the parts needed and came back to finish the job. The garage door has worked fine."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

If you’re handling your tile removal yourself, seal the room using painter’s tape and heavy-duty contractor bags to prevent dust and shards from escaping. Use a claw hammer or a pry bar and a mallet to get behind the tile and pry it away from the floor or wall. Once your tiles are all removed, sweep everything into contractor bags for disposal, being careful not to overfill them. Make sure you wear a dust mask, safety goggles, and work gloves to keep yourself safe from injury while you work.

The best bathroom floor tiles are strong enough to withstand the weight of a clawfoot tub. However, professional tile installation is essential. If the tiles are uneven or improperly fixed, they may crack under the pressure. Be careful when installing the tub—if it drops or drags on the tiles, it could easily cause scratches or cracks.

You can use sanded or unsanded grout for a shower pan, but sanded grout isn’t the best option for shower walls. For those areas, you’ll want to use unsanded grout, which works well on vertical surfaces and is less likely to slump than sanded grout. Alternatively, you can use epoxy grout for shower walls.

It’s important to leave a gap in the corner when tiling to allow room for tile expansion. Leaving between one eighth of an inch to one tenth of an inch is enough space.

Flooring transition strips can be secured to the subfloor using glue, nails, or screws. For a more secure installation, especially in high-traffic areas, using screws or nails is recommended as it reduces the risk of slippage. However, if aesthetic appeal is a priority, glue provides a cleaner, more seamless finish without any visible holes or screw heads.
