"We've never done a remodel before. We live in a high-rise and needed to update our kitchen, put in some pocket doors, and a laundry closet. We thought we needed an architect to give us ideas and the structural parameters within which we needed to work. We bought the Big Deal for an architectural consult. Mr. Madeiros was very professional and offered us a few ideas. He is relatively new to the Denver area and wasn't sure if we needed permits for the work we wanted to do. He called the city for us, which was helpful. He gave us drawings of what we had described and his added idea. It ended up that we didn't need his services as we discovered that general contractor could do what we needed. We had the building and unit floor plans and lots of our own ideas, having done a lot of research. I think if you were going to create something out of nothing, his services would be more helpful. "
"This is our second time working w/Cedric (Sonny) and we are just as happy w/our results as the first time we worked w/ him a few years ago. I was delighted when he agreed to be our landscape architect again. Cedric is very easy to work with. He is honest, communicative, and always inspecting both the work in progress and the finished work, to ensure he is satisfied w/it. Cedric also always followed up w/us to make sure we were happy with how the project was progressing as well as the end results. Additionally, he is a good listener and his ideas are very innovative. Cedric's crews are kind, timely, hard-working, trustworthy, detail oriented and do a great job cleaning up. For our current project, we hired Cedric and crews to remove a brick patio and brick walkway from the front of our house. Cedric's crews did the demolition, poured a new sand-finished front walkway, built a stucco and brick wall where the brick patio used to be, planted a tree and installed walkway lighting. The results are fantastic and we've gotten several compliments from our neighbors on how nice our front yard looks. We spent approximately $36K. for this job. Next Spring Cedric and crews will return to do more landscaping in the front yard and along the front walkway as well as some landscaping in our side / backyard. I wouldn't trust our landscape design projects to anyone else but Cedric....he's that good!"
"Henry and crew just completed my landscape project. I am thrilled with the end result and would recommend them highly! Professional, organized, attention to detail, meticulous on clean up. Henry designed out a beautiful landscape plan and addressed any concerns! Will use them again for any future project or service needed."
"Unique Perspective did an outstanding experience from start to finish. Steve helped bring our vision to life by creating the architectural plans and as-built drawings for our home, and his expertise truly made the entire process seamless. His attention to detail, professionalism, and knowledge were exceptional. He took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and transformed our ideas into beautifully organized, well-designed plans. We were incredibly impressed with his communication, creativity, and ability to make everything feel simple and stress-free. If you are looking for someone talented, reliable, and highly skilled in architectural planning and residential design, I cannot recommend him enough. We will absolutely work again with his company in the future ."
"Michael Byron, Atlas LLC Design and Development Services, Denver, CO 80210, 303-263-2665, is truly a breath of fresh air when dealing with a contractor/service provider. Although I have not known Michael for a long period of time, from the first conversation I knew that I was dealing with an ethical and caring person. Prior to hiring Michael I had spoken to several Architects, and not only did I find them to be curt, bothered, but they were not forthcoming with their ideas, and once I received their bids for my addition/remodeling project, I realized that they were at the very top tier of any professional with their high costs (go ahead check for yourself---staggering). Anyway, back to Atlas LLC., so Michael was very patient, extremely thorough during the entire process making sure that the design was fully thought out in appearance, function, and costs. Michael was also hired to obtain the necessary structural design and drawings from an Engineer that he works with. This is extremely important at a time when the trades are very busy, he kept things on track and coordinated the process. Michael was very good with the communication, and continued to assist with building officials as needed on the road to completion and permit approval. Okay, Michael sounding pretty good right? Now, about me this was not my first go round, I am a successful real estate agent 25+ years in the Denver metro area. I have had dozens of my own projects, and have participated with clients in hundreds. Michael has made a very stressful process---construction in the middle of a move, much more tolerable, and I will gladly refer him to anyone in need of Design Services for their next project or remodel. "Marc is an incredible architect and was instrumental in getting our project back on track with the City of Denver. He was always available to answer our questions, brainstorm ideas, helped us navigate Denver building code, and provided some very strong guidance about the building and permitting process. He delivered our project/plans on time and on budget, including a super quick review and approval process with the city. Highly, highly recommend!"
"I was very happy with my experience with Rock N Block from start to finish. Paul helped with my design phase, and was very communicative throughout the process the installation team was quick and did a wonderful job."
"Steve was great to work with. We had drawings done by an architect we planned to work with who then couldn't meet our budget in the end. We found Steve who took those drawings and made small changes that led to major impacts. Steve helped us build a beautiful ADU. He saw the project through from start to finish. He was often at the jobsite overseeing things. He made sure the project was built correctly and would answer our call every time. He was timely, professional yet personable and extremely knowledgeable. We would highly recommend him and have to our friends who were building."
"Excellent customer service and knowledge of their craft. MG Landscaping completely transformed our front yard in two days. They listened to what we wanted and came up with a design that captured our ideas perfectly. I highly recommend them."
Greek Revival architecture was popularized in America in the early- to mid-1800s, around the time when archaeologists were discovering buried ancient Greek buildings. As a means of celebrating the democratic government in ancient Greece, American architects borrowed from those newly discovered buildings as a way to emphasize that America would remain a democratic country in the wake of the American Revolution.
You have three options in terms of professionals who can draw up blueprints: a draftsperson, an architect, or a structural engineer. A draftsperson can sometimes draw up plans for new construction, but they more often work from approved plans for alterations or to provide 3D drawings. Architects are usually the best option for standard residential construction projects. Structural engineers might be necessary for custom home builds or for alterations that could affect your home’s structural integrity. Draftsmen cost the least of the three, followed by architects and then structural engineers.
In the United States, architects must be licensed in all 50 states and the District of Columbia before being allowed to practice or seek business. Licensing requirements vary state-to-state, but overall the architect must be educated, attain a certain level of experience, submit to and pass an examination, and register as an architect. Find out if your architect is licensed using Angi’s contractor licensing search tool.
New constructions, renovations, and interior layouts benefit from expert drafting.
Blueprints are generally available for houses built after the early 1900s. Before then, detailed building schematics like blueprints were rarely used and even more rarely saved. If you have an older house and need blueprints, you can have a new set drawn up by an architect or draftsperson.
