"Dylan is a gem! He responded promptly to my request for a quote, followed through with consistent communication, and was a pleasure to work with. He repaired a granite kitchen countertop and did so in the cleanest way possible by keeping his vacuum host taped to the location where he was grinding down the edges of our counter. He also showed up on time, went and purchased an additional item to shine the new edge of our countertop, and cleaned up after himself. I will definitely use him again!"

"Very professional start to finish. Received a quick detailed estimate, and scheduling and service were also very promptà ¢à  à ¦speedy in fact. Our countertops look fabulous, exceeding expectations. Ità ¢à  à  s difficult to find someone to do this work, and I had my doubts about using a company I found on the internet. But we are so glad we took the chance on Surface Link because they did a perfect job. It is Hard to find a contractor we can say that about todayà ¢à  à ¦. We are often disappointed. Not with this company. Or this technician (Steve ) who is a pro at this. Time will tell, but as of today, we are thrilled."

"Overall, everything went very well. I appreciated John and Ali's help, with there knowledge and help, with helping me find that right countertop. The only issue I really had was at times, the communication was sketchy, and on the installation date, they were a bit late on getting there, but once they got there, the installation went good. I thought the price was very reasonable as well! I would certainly use these guy's again!"

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

The resin should be periodically sealed to help prevent it from wearing down or becoming porous. Very sharp or very hot objects can damage the resin surface, and there’s no way to fully repair it if that happens, so we recommend treating the counters well.

Marble countertops don’t necessarily crack easily. However, they are more susceptible to damage than some other types of countertops. For example, they can develop etching from acidic liquids, such as lemon or tomato juice. Marble can also chip at the edges if you drop a heavy pan. A faux marble countertop isn’t as delicate as the real deal (depending on the material you’re painting over), but it can still get scratched if you’re not careful. Use hot pads and cutting boards to protect the countertop.

The standard kitchen counter size is typically between 24 to 25 inches wide and 25 to 26 inches deep. Wider countertops are also common, with widths of 30 to 36 inches among the most popular choices. Note that these are just general guidelines, and there is flexibility to custom the size of countertops to suit individual needs and the space.

Yes, you can remove a countertop without breaking it. It is possible to save your countertop to use in your new kitchen, donate it, or sell it! You’ll just need to work carefully as you follow the removal steps above. If you’re not sure you can get the job done without causing a little damage, call in a pro for peace of mind.

Corian® is a popular countertop alternative to quartz. Created from an acrylic resin and natural minerals, Corian® resembles quartz and offers some similar benefits, but it comes at a cheaper price. Corian® countertops cost an average of $26 to $65 per square foot, which is less than half of what quartz countertops usually cost. The downside is that Corian® isn’t as durable as quartz, particularly regarding its resistance to scratches and high temperatures.
