"Shawn and his crew did a fantastic job assembling our greenhouse kit. They first built a base for it and then put the structure on top of it. They were here when they said they would be and worked through the heat. The job was finished it in the time he expected to. His rates were reasonable for the work. He and his crew were all very respectful, cleaned up at the end of each day, and just all-around nice folks. I would not hesitate to hire High Desert Home Solutions again."

"Vargas Home Improvement did an outstanding job on our project: resurfacing our wood deck with composite boards, posts, and rails. First and foremost, the owner, Rudy, was always timely in responding and communicating with us. Throughout all phases of the project, Rudy kept us informed and listened and responded to any and all questions or concerns that arose. Everyone that showed up on the work site was friendly, had a great deal of experience, and were hard workers. The price for the project was very reasonable in comparison to other quotes we received. Therefore, our project finished early, came in within budget, and we were updated and kept informed throughout the whole project. That's a successful project and we would definitely recommend Vargas Home Improvement, and Rudy will be our first call for any other similar projects in the future."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

You should combine pool and spa service with whole-home electrical upgrades, as equipment replacements require mandatory inspections anyway. Pair pool resurfacing with concrete deck replacement to address expansive soil preparation at the same time. In the fall, schedule your pool winterization alongside your landscape irrigation blowout. Always prioritize freeze-sensitive work to ensure your combined projects finish before the short Grand Junction construction window closes.

Helpful?

Following pool construction and installation, maintain a reliable liquid test kit to monitor water chemistry. Keep acid and cyanuric acid stabilizer on hand to balance the alkaline water and protect chlorine from intense CO sunlight. You need heavy-duty skimmers to capture wind-blown desert dust. Stock up on scale-prevention products to combat hard water buildup, and keep winterizing plugs and pool-rated antifreeze ready for freezing temperatures in Grand Junction.

Helpful?

Unforeseen soil conditions frequently impact pool construction and installation budgets. Excavators often hit hard caliche rock or expansive clay soils, which require specialized equipment and engineered backfill. You must also account for mandatory safety fencing required by CO state law. Additional expenses arise from upgrading older electrical panels to handle dedicated circuits, extending gas lines for heaters, and correcting drainage issues to protect your Grand Junction property from standing water.

Helpful?

Hard water dominates this region, so you must select aggregate finishes like pebble or quartz to resist severe scaling. Because Grand Junction receives intense sunlight at a high elevation, specify UV-resistant ratings for your liners and exposed polymer components. For coping and tile, choose materials with low water absorption rates to withstand repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Finally, require wind-resistant enclosures for your outdoor equipment.

Helpful?

After pool construction and installation, the high desert climate requires diligent upkeep. You must manage rapid water evaporation and frequent chemical degradation caused by intense UV exposure. The alkaline municipal water in Grand Junction causes calcium scaling, requiring regular surface cleaning and acid washing. Prepare for hard freezes by thoroughly winterizing the system, which includes blowing out plumbing lines and installing a secure winter cover to prevent severe damage.
