"Yesterday I was looking for a plumber to check out my water heater and I was also on the lookout for a tree trimmer to trim a cherry tree this spring. I received a call from a plumber who is scheduled for tomorrow and I received a call from Pete who immediately came to look at the tree and he came back this morning to do the job. Everything was great and another project is taken care of on my "to do" list. Susan M., Grand Junction, CO"

"We needed several trees removed and trimmed back from the house. Bryon reviewed our job and gave us a quote. We arranged the time and he told us how long he thought it would take. They showed up when they said they would and worked hard. They removed the dead trees, trimmed all the branches back on the remaining trees, cleaned up when they were finished. Would highly recommend them. We will have them back on another project this spring."

"Uprooted Tree Service has worked on several of our properties in Southwest Colorado. We are fortunate to have found them! Not only does Robert understand what the tree "wants", but also understands what the customer wants and needs. HUGE trees have been beautifully managed: elms, aspens, cottonwoods, and conifers. He understands soil, moisture content and watering, and a clients budget. He was able to remove two giant aspens from our yard without using a boom truck, which would have ruined other landscaping. On-time, on-budget, and leaves the job site very neat."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Most plum trees are pruned into a vase or open wine glass shape. They’ll have a shorter central leader (the trunk) that supports three to four main branches. Of course, this isn't always the case. If you have a European plum tree, you can grow it in a pyramid shape. Let the central leader extend the length of the tree and prune smaller branches to create the pyramid.

Yes, you can hire professionals to move a tree. Arborists and tree transplanting companies specialize in this type of work and use equipment like hydraulic tree spades to safely extract and relocate trees with their root balls intact. Since tree moving is a complex process, especially for larger trees, it’s best left to experts who understand how to protect the tree’s health and ensure the safety of everyone involved.

Stay inside or well away until the storm passes. Don’t go outside to inspect the tree until the weather clears, especially if the tree is on a hill or isolated in a field. Lightning often strikes the same easily-accessed places multiple times, and you could be a new target. If a lightning strike causes a noticeable fire, alert emergency services. When the storm is over, take a closer look to gauge the damage done.

Palm trees will not regrow from a stump once the tree has been cut down. This type of tree is unique because the root and stump system will slowly decay after the tree is gone, unlike other species that can regrow. That’s why it’s preferable to remove dead or decaying palm tree stumps quickly as they can become an eyesore and don’t offer future growing potential.

Not all evergreen conifers need to be pruned, but some do. Pruning pine trees is not necessary, but you can do so during June and July if you wish. On the other hand, spruce, firs, and junipers do need to be pruned from late winter to early spring.
