"I used an Angie's list Big Deal to reserve Alan's services after another company refused to honor the Big Deal they posted. And I'm glad that first contractor didn't work out!!
Alan showed up in the time frame that we had set up. He completed all the work in that time frame.
Alan's appearance and conduct were professional. He took extra care to avoid any damage to items around the house. He adjusted his technique around newly painted areas to avoid damaging the fresh paint. He even offered assistance and advice for removing oil stains on my driveway.
Overall, I was impressed. Alan was perhaps the best contract that I have worked with to date.
Thanks Alan!

"I was happy with service. My rep name was Milton. It took 2 days to replace the roof. He kept me updated from start to end. After the roof was replaced, he did a final inspection. Insurance covered the expense but peach tree restoration filed paper work. I had to pay deductible. I will use this company in the future."

"The work was completed in a timely fashion. All the furniture was covered and protected, and true to his word, he seemed perfectly at ease painting high surfaces. He cleaned up after the work was done and even came back to do a touch up on a spot that needed a bit more coverage after the paint had dried. Beven is a true artist and has the eye and the skill to do works of art, and I felt it was beneath his ability to simply paint a surface a monochromatic color, but his work ethic is impeccable and he shows that no job is too simple. He did a great job and next time I need a faux finish done, he'll be the first person I'll call."

Sandblasting Services questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on surface material, labor, debris disposal, and the type of blasting media used.

Your pro will most likely bill you at an hourly rate of $50 to $80 per hour to sandblast a door due to its small size. This type of job won't take long, so if you have other surfaces that need cleaning, schedule those tasks at the same time to get your money's worth from your pro's visit.

Soda-blasting systems are slightly more expensive than sandblasting systems. To soda blast, you’ll need to spend a few hundred dollars for a blast hose and nozzle, a compressed air supply, a blast generator, a moisture decontamination system, and sodium bicarbonate media, a recurring cost because the powder is not reusable. To start with sandblasting, you will need to spend upwards of $30 for a blast pot, a blast gun, an air compressor, and sandblasting media, many of which are recyclable—further reducing the cost. The total cost for either will depend on the size of the system.

Sanding and pressure washing serve different purposes in deck maintenance, so one is not necessarily better than the other. Pressure washing is ideal for annual cleaning to remove dirt, grime, mold, and mildew. Sanding is a deeper restoration method used to smooth rough surfaces, remove an old finish, and prepare the wood for a new coat of stain or paint. The ideal process for refinishing a deck is to first clean it (with a power washer), then sand it, and finally apply the new stain or finish. While cleaning should be done annually, sanding and staining are typically needed only every one to three years.

The disadvantages of sandblasting are noise, mess, and risk. Sandblasters are louder than chainsaws and spread debris on the ground and through the air. Let your neighbors know that you're sandblasting so they can prepare. Sandblasting can damage your property if not done properly, so thoroughly vet any pros you talk to before hiring.
