"Dylan arrived at the scheduled time and performed the deck repair in a workmanlike, professional manner. He answered any questions I had and was pleasant to deal with. I would definitely hire him again for any carpentry work needed."

"Larry was on time and very efficient with his work. He hung several light fixtures, put together patio furniture, and fabricated/installed a new gate for our privacy fence. Job well done, thanks!"

"We hired this company to help clean out 20+ years of junk from a barn. They were excellent at organizing the project as well as the two young men who came out to house had excellent personalities and worked about 9 hrs straight, including two runs to the dump. They never complained and worked tirelessly! What was supposed to take two days, actually only took us one long day. Amazing how much we were able to get accomplished with their help!!"

"We had a challenging and highly technical 12x16 TREX deck re-leveling (repair) and refinish project that some other contractors declined to take on or quoted me absolutely ridiculous amounts. After moving a header board and re-leveling the joists, the TREX was completely removed and replaced with a new color scheme and new TREX railings with cocktail rail. After a miscommunication with a local TREX deck supply company resulting in a minor delay due to the unique color combination, the final product was worth the wait. Kyle B. from Marco Construction was as meticulous and detail-oriented as I would have been in ensuring that this deck was finished looking exactly how I envisioned it from the beginning. Only pictures do this project justice, but I cannot upload them to HomeAdvisor with this review. Mark, the owner of Marco Construction, has pictures of the finished product if you are interested in seeing the quality of work. The details and scope of the project are below. - Original Deck - TREX with TREX Fascia and Redwood Railings - Fascia, Deck Boards, and Stairs Removed To Level The Joists - Resecured To Wall and Header Board Moved To Center Of Deck - Joist Replacement (5) Of Warped Boards - Relevel Stairs Sets To New Joists - TREX Rope Swing Decking Installed using Universal Clips - TREX Lava Rock Picture Frame Installed Around Outside Of Rope Swing - TREX Lava Rock Fascia Installed Around Outside - New 4x4 Wood Posts For Railings Installed - TREX White Post Covers/Caps/Skirts Installed - TREX Vintage Lantern Univeral Top and Bottom Rails Installed - TREX Black Square Aluminum Balusters with Infill Kits Installed - TREX Lava Rock Square Board Installed On Top For A Wider Cocktail Rail - Stairs with TREX Rope Swing Square Board with Lava Rock Frame Sides Kyle B. did an excellent job with this project which took approximately 1 month from start to finish due to the materials delay. The actual construction time was very reasonable and much less than the month. The final cost was a little higher than the original quote, but not out of the question due to the additional framing, header, and deck board installs work required to build the deck as I envisioned it. I would absolutely recommend them for future jobs. - Ryan"

"Fast and friendly service! Hired them awhile ago to restore my old fence that I was thinking needed to be replaced. The owner Jason came by and convinced me otherwise. Saved me a ton of money and the fence looks brand new."

"I recently hired Force Construction to remodel my laundry room to include pantry shelves. It was a small area and they did a great job giving me lots of storage and room to move around. They were quick to respond and come out to give me a quote and got to work as soon as I hired them. They were very easy to work with, professional and very responsive to me. As is common with projects once you get started problems arise and they worked with me to solve them, they paid attention to details making sure I was happy every step of the way. They were explaining clearly when a problem arose and what my options were respecting that I had a budget and giving me different options. The final results exceeded my expectations! I would definitely recommend them."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Framing is the shell of the house. It includes several steps, including studs, plumbing, and electricity. A professional will ensure the wall frame is secured for the house’s structural integrity.

Framing prices change depending on the material and whether the wall is load-bearing. Most contractors use wood to frame a home, but metal is another popular choice.

No rules state how much of a load-bearing wall can be removed. Rather, you need to adequately support any area that is removed. Support should always be added to as much wall area is being removed. Failing to support the area properly will result in structural damage.

Accurate measurements, sturdy materials, and seamless integration with other structures.

Building involves setting foundation posts, framing with durable wood, adding roofing support, and protecting from elements with water-resistant finishes.

Removing a load-bearing wall is best handled by professionals. However, if you have the skill set and decide to DIY the project, you will still need at least one additional person to assist you. Aside from helping with demolition, you'll need another hand to install the new support beam.
