"We needed a fence removed and a new one built including a gate and tie-in with a neighboring fence. The finished project was just what we had envisioned. Care was taken to avoid sprinkler system pipes, and it made a great difference!"

Todd Gossage and Old World Masonry is a brand new business with and old world twist. Bringing back the lost art of dome building, we specialize in designing and constructing both wood and masonry pergolas, gazebos, and any other domed structure under 200 sq ft. Other shapes are possible as well, including hexagonal and octagonal. Walls of the masonry dome can be added or taken away as needed (they are not structural in holding up the roof), which enables a custom design: No walls, (just four pillars and a roof), creates a wide open gazebo or pergola; One wall, (for wind protection, or to add privacy for summertime cookouts); 2,3 & 4 walls work as well (3 in the case of a firewood shelter, or 4 for a shed). Also, our newest product, which is still in production, which can be hexagonal or square in shape, is a solid roofed gazebo, with a cupola, and rich looking wood on the interior of the ceiling.

"Ryan and his partner arrived on time and worked diligently to replace our old electric control panel in our home.  They worked non-stop for ten hours and at the end of the day we had a new control panel that was professionally installed by top notch craftsman.   You can tell they take pride in their work and I would recommend White Rhino Electric to anyone that needs electrical work performed in our around their home."

Home Building questions, answered by experts

The average build timeline for a home is between six and 12 months, with timelines pushing toward the upper end of that range if you’re creating a custom design or need a lot of land preparation before getting started. Hiring a general contractor or a custom homebuilder will help speed up the process, as you’ll see fewer delays between different parts of the build process getting done.

Yes, a home builder or contractor should have the proper licensing and insurance. Licensing requirements vary by state and municipality, but most states mandate that a builder holds at least a general contractor’s license. For specialized work such as plumbing, electrical, roofing, or sewage systems, individual licenses may be required, in which case the builder may subcontract the work. You can use Angi’s state licensing tool to review your local guidelines and confirm a builder's credentials. As you browse professionals, you can also look for the “Angi Certified” badge. This indicates the business meets our certification standards, which include passing a criminal background check, holding applicable state and local licenses, and maintaining an average rating of 3.0 or better.

No, a structural engineer is not the same as a builder. A structural engineer is an expert in all things related to the structural integrity of a building. The structural engineer is responsible for calculating the correct materials in terms of load-bearing capacity and overall structural safety. Structural engineers do not perform the actual building of the house or other structures. Rather, the builder executes the plans and designs specified by the structural engineer.

The term “cottage” is subjective, so there’s no rigid definition, but it generally refers to a small home with simple and purposeful architecture that embraces nature and focuses on charm over everything else. Cottages are typically 1 or 1 1/2-stories tall, usually with gabled roofs, and are built out of natural materials that help make the structure a part of the surrounding nature rather than something that stands out from it. A big part of what makes a cottage a cottage is the decor, which includes natural materials from the nearby area.

Modular homes are a type of prefab home. Specifically, manufacturers first build modular homes in sections and then deliver them to the job site. The modules, or sections, are usually at least 70% finished before they arrive on your property.

In comparison, prefab homes arrive in panels or segments, and workers assemble them on-site. Generally speaking, modular homes tend to be more durable, and their consistent construction standards may mean you’ll have an easier time getting conventional home loans.
