"Our main water line was leaking with hardly any pressure to our house. Upon calling Holmes Excavation the Friday before Christmas, they were up at our house within 90 minutes. After agreeing to their services, they arranged for the locate services for electric, gas, and phone before the end of the day and before the weekend to prepare for their work starting on Monday. Our water service was restored by the end of the day on Monday, and they finished backfilling the next day--2 days before Christmas! While their equipment was still at our house, my wife asked if they could pull out some nasty roots from her garden. They did so without hesitation and I was able to cross that off of my "to do" list and saving my back for another project. It’s best to stay off of recycled asphalt for at least 48 hours, then you can walk or drive standard vehicles on it. Hold off on driving heavy trucks or equipment on it for at least 7 days. Allowing the surface to melt together and harden ensures that the surface stays durable and long-lasting. 

When asphalt cures, it typically changes from a very dark black hue to a lighter, more matte gray color. Cured asphalt also won’t be tacky or sticky to the touch or emit any odors from the asphalt mix. Additionally, the surface of fully cured asphalt won’t deform under any pressure.

The process is unique enough—and not incredibly common enough—that you may have to look around for a tar and chip specialist.
