I specialize in small scale repairs, builds, and with general physical help that people need. I grew up surrounded by my family's construction business, and have always been a curious and avid tinkerer, taking apart bicycles, refurbishing and painting furniture, detailing cars, helping people hang TV's, building storage shelves, and more. After co-running a small scale handyman business with a partner in Bozeman, MT, I made the recent decision to move home to Fairfax, hoping to continue helping back here. I'm a diligent worker, and I make sure everyone feels satisfied at the end of the day.

Pressure Washing questions, answered by experts

Pressure washing your home or fence can make a major difference in the appearance and may even help extend the life of the structure you’re cleaning. Some of the most common areas that people pressure wash around their property include:

  • Driveway: $100–$250

  • Patio: $100–$200

  • Fence: $150–$300

  • Gutters: $50–$150

  • Roof: $450–$700

  • Siding: $150–$1,400

  • One-story house: $150–$750

  • Two-story house: $400–$1,400

  • Three-story house: $700–$1,800

If you have a type of siding that’s safe to pressure wash—namely, cement, vinyl, or aluminum—you can pressure wash your house as often as once per year (though, depending on the level of dirt and debris your home is exposed to, you might not need to). Late spring is an ideal time to pressure wash your home since the bloom of pollen in the air will have settled and you’ll be able to get the siding as clean as possible.

Yes, pressure washing your deck before staining is a great idea because it clears the wood from any dirt, dust, and debris that could get in the way of solid stain coverage. Washing makes it easier to stain your deck and helps the stain grip the wood so it lasts longer. Pressure washers are faster and easier on your body than scrubbing your deck by hand.

Not always. The answer depends on your specific vinyl siding product. While some manufacturers advise against pressure washing, others recommend pressure washing as long as pressure is kept below a certain threshold.

It is possible to wash your own roof, but we don’t recommend it. First, getting up on any roof is dangerous without proper safety equipment, especially if wetting a metal roof and making the surface slick. Additionally, it’s easy to damage your roof or force water between roof seams if you use a power washer, which can lead to property damage. Hiring a professional roof cleaner will save you time, keep you safe, and ensure that your roof looks new again without damaging it in the process. Plus, roof cleaning is a relatively affordable home improvement project.
