"First repairman got unit started by replacing capacitor and a switch. I asked him to check the coolant level and he said it was fine. 3 days later I had them back because although running it was not cooling. The new guy discovered that it was almost empty of refrigerant. He tightened a valve which he suspected of leaking. I am still not sure how we got from completely fine to empty. The second and I think more senior tech took the time to check out the entire system. They were quick to respond and eventually fixed it. Thought price was high at almost $1,000 for both visits. They were professional and communicative."

"Winters plumbing did a phenomenal job replacing our toilet flange and getting a bathroom up and running again. They responded quickly with a reasonable quote and were able to get to our house the next morning. The plumber, Keelan, was incredibly friendly and communicated everything he was doing throughout the process. We will absolutely use Winters Plumbing next time we need a plumber and will definitely recommend them to anyone who asks."

"They addressed the initial issue, but, I still had to do an improvement in order for the toilet to flush because what they replaced did not work with the existing toilet handle. Not sure why the service guy did not catch that."

"Had a toilet closet bolt break and the toilet was loose. Was going to DIY it and found a flange issue. They came out for a quote and were very knowable and professional. Gave me a fair quote and had the job done in less than 2 hours"

"Elsy ( I believe she was the plumber from your company via Angi) arrived as scheduled, on Saturday, 09/28/2024. She attempted to repair my garbage disposal unit but was unable to do so as the unit's wiring was worn out. I advised the unit is 40 yrs old. She recommended to purchase a new one. We made a trip together to the local Home Depot store and I purchased the same brand s she recommended. She installed it in record time (within the 2.5 hrs) and completed the job. She also cleaned the work space and carried the old one to my recycling bin. Very satisfied with her work. Also, I want to know if I will receive a billing statement for my records? Thank you for your time & assistance."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can fill your toilet tank manually to help it flush, or you can pour the water directly into the bowl to flush it manually. This will work for the majority of toilets, as most use a gravity feed system. However, you should only ever use this as a temporary solution. If your toilet tank isn’t filling, you should find out why. First, make sure the speedy valve connected to your toilet and your water main are open. If that doesn’t solve the issue, call in a professional to address the problem.

Left unattended, a leaking toilet will eventually cause water damage or mold growth. If you’re a homeowner, you can file an insurance claim for water damage. However, that can be a long and tedious process; sometimes, your insurance company may not cover the damage. Therefore, it’s always best to fix any leak you notice right away if you can.

Common problems include leaks, clogs, and running water. Regular maintenance prevents most issues.

Ensuring your toilet will fit starts with measuring the rough-in, but there are a few other factors to consider. The toilet tank's height and the toilet's depth should fit comfortably within the bathroom’s current setup. When considering depth, look at the walking space around the toilet to ensure it fits in the bathroom.

Yes, you should screw your flange to the subfloor, including cement. The best way to get this done is to predrill holes into the concrete using a hammer drill and a ¼-inch concrete bit. Be careful when you’re ready to bolt your flange down, as you can accidentally crack it. You can avoid this issue by not installing the screws too deep. Or, you can opt for a flange with a stainless steel ring so you don’t have to worry about cracking the plastic.
