Curt Linderman came to my house on May 7 to try to fix our diesel furnace. On top of what he called diagnostic services at $50, he charged another $100 for work that had already been tried by the furnace people. Nothing was fixed, but he said he's come back. He had many excuses when we tried to set up another appointment. Finally he stopped calling altogether. I don't believe his intentions were honorable.

Also purchased tires for both vehicles from them. In early February, I woke up to a broken water line and broken furnace. Because of the place of the leak, I had to turn my main water line off. MountainWest called me back promptly and sent a repair technician for each issue. The HVAC technician diagnosed quickly that my furnace motor died, went and picked up a new one and the furnace was fixed and I had heat again before noon. The water line was repaired within 30 minutes of the plumber's arrival. Because I had a coupon that exceeded the amount of the repair for the water line, the plumber generously offered to fix any other issues or leave me with a credit. I had him install a frost free faucet on the broken line and fix a leaky valve. I had running water and a warm house well before 3:00 p.m.
I would heartily recommend MountainWest Heating and Plumbing and will call them again when I am ready to reroute the vents in my basement and if I have any other plumbing or HVAC issues!

I built a new home in 2008, and since then my AC unit has taken multiple electricity hits (we have bad power in 29 Palms). In August 2012, we lost the condenser, and I filed a claim with my home warranty company, they sent out someone who claimed there was water damage to the unit (even though we live in a new home and there was no sign of water anywhere around), the home warranty company dis-allowed the claim. Gene and Randee jumped in, sent for the warrantied part, and had us up and running again in a matter of days. They also provided proof that there was no water damage to the unit, and I was able to get a partial reimbursement from my home warranty company. For that, I thank them.
Last year, I decided to purchase a Bonaire-Durango swamp cooler, and Nelson's installed it, running water lines and securing it in the window. This was a recommendation by Gene Nelson, and it cut my electricity bill by $200.00 over the summer months. It meant I could shut-down the AC unit, and run the swamp cooler during the 115 degree heat. I would, and do recommend them to friends.

Roy and Duane were amazing! They replaced the old galvanized pipes with PEX, fixed the broken copper joints, replaced the hot water heater and kitchen sink plumbing. I’d hire them again in a heartbeat!

To buy heating oil for your house, contact local heating oil companies to compare prices and place an order once you decide on a supplier. The company will have to deliver your heating oil in a truck designed to carry and dispense heating oil safely. Call and order your heating oil early enough to have your oil delivered before you need to start using it for home heating.
On average, you’ll need about two gallons of oil per day to heat your house when it’s 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Most oil tank capacity is about 275 gallons, and heating your house with two gallons of oil per day will last about four and a half months. This consumption will vary depending on the climate and average temperature in your location. For example, if the winters are longer and colder where you live, you’ll probably need to refill your oil tank at least once to get through the winter.
You save money on heating oil in a few ways:
Make sure your home is well insulated and sealed against drafts and heat leakage.
Use a thermostat that’s working properly and calibrated accurately.
Increase energy efficiency by insulating your basement and attic.
Turn down your thermostat a few degrees.
Program your thermostat to lower the heat when you’re not home.
Order heating oil during the off-season when prices are likely to be lower.
Summer months tend to be when heating oil prices are lowest because of decreased demand. Buying heating oil during the off-season also prepares you for when the weather gets cold, and you need to start using the oil to heat your home. Although heating oil prices will fluctuate, it’s best to avoid purchasing between September and April, as that's the peak season for heating oil demand.
Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.
