"I recently hired a landscape designer to help me revamp my backyard, and I'm thrilled with the results. The designer was creative and listened to my needs, and they were able to create a beautiful and functional outdoor space that exceeded my expectations. "We were getting ready to sell the house at the time so we wanted the service taken care of. We had more ducts and vents then were included in the deal so we had to pay additional fees. They did a good job."

"Not only does Absolute Chimney work and refurbish Chimney's they also clean and repair HVAC air ducts, these guys are real pros at what they do. I would have not known my air ducts had holes in them if wasn't for Keith and crew. It was cooling and heating my attic and blowing fiber glass into house each time I used the heating and air unit. Thanks to their team I can breath and stay warm. Excellent Job Keith. Thank you."

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

You will enjoy greater energy efficiency and save on your annual energy bills, with new, modern HVAC systems using 30% to 50% less energy than older models. Upgrading your HVAC system is also a great way to embrace new technology, such as smart thermostats, lighting, fan speed, and humidity from your phone or tablet.

Window ACs use 500 to 1,400 watts per hour of electricity, while mini-splits use 500 to 700 watts per hour. However, if you need to cool multiple zones in your house, your mini-split can use as much as 2,000 watts per hour. How often you run your system will impact how much electricity you use (and how much you pay per month).

A power outage can damage your air conditioner, just like a power surge can damage any electrical device or appliance. In most cases, your circuit breaker or built-in surge protection on your AC unit protects your AC and just needs a reset. But in other cases, it might be that your AC compressor or capacitor was blown during the power surge. You’ll need to have an HVAC professional repair or replace any AC parts.

While 72 degrees is a comfortable setting for many people, it’s likely not the most efficient temperature setting for your air conditioning unit. By pushing the temperature up to 75 or 78 degrees, you stand to save money on your energy bill. That said, these temperatures may be too warm to be comfortable for some people and are definitely too warm for most people to sleep comfortably.

It depends on the size of the space you’re cooling down. If you’re looking for the most affordable way to cool an entire house over a long period of time, then central air will be more cost-effective. But when it comes to cooling down a couple of rooms or one floor, a window unit may be the cheaper option, with both a lower cost to install and less energy used to run.
