"This was a small landscaping job for placing ribbon/ synthetic grass between concrete that was already poured. The team was fast, friendly professional, and gave a great price. They did an amazing job! I highly recommend for any of your landscaping needs."

"Overall they did a good job. They did what they said they would do (with a little bit of “supervision” from my wife). Cleanup was excellent. I think they rushed the job a bit and some spots were not trimmed as much as they could have been; not totally their fault though since the city folks were working right next to my house and needed the tree trimmers to clear out as soon as possible. The foreman could have been more assertive with the city workers but what can you do, just bad luck on our part I guess worth the city job happening at the same time right next to our house."

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts

To remove old grass effectively, you typically need to dig to one to two inches. This depth typically allows you to reach the root system of the grass, ensuring thorough removal. However, if the grass is a particularly dense or deep-rooted variety (such as Bermuda grass), or if you're planning to replace it with a different landscaping feature, you may need to dig deeper to loosen the soil and remove any underlying roots.

Using a truck to remove a bush falls into the category of “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.” While it is possible to use a truck to pull out a bush, if you don’t have the right equipment, if you’re not familiar with attaching things to your vehicle correctly, or if you don’t have enough room, it’s a risky option. To prevent damage to your vehicle, it’s worth using tools made for the job of digging and cutting roots instead.

Generally, it is not necessary to remove old mulch before applying a new layer. As organic mulch breaks down, it enriches the soil with nutrients. However, you should remove the old layer if it shows signs of fungus or disease, which can be common in moist areas, or if the total depth is already too thick. Avoid letting the total mulch depth exceed 3 inches, as this can harm plant roots. If you do remove old, disease-free mulch, it can be added to a compost pile.

Many privet varieties are considered invasive, particularly in North America. They can grow quickly, spread into the wild, and push out native species if left uncontrolled. It’s a particular problem for warmer southern states, and some regions even have warnings or regulations against planting certain types of privet. You can reduce (but not eliminate) the chances of privet spreading by cutting its flowers in summer before they develop.

Yard waste should be professionally removed at least once per season, particularly during major landscaping projects, fall leaf accumulation, or after severe weather. Regular removal promotes lawn health and maintains a neat exterior.
