"They have done a very good job with good care. They need to work on giving detail estimates of work items. I had an understanding that they will take care of few other minor items but their crews didn't work on them. They did complete the main paving project with full satisfaction though."

"System Pavers did a great job, had out-standing customer service, the job came out really nice and they were always here on time. The only thing I was not totally happy with is the price, it seemed really expensive to me at first. But when they actually did the job it took a whole week and everything came out great. It looks nice in both my front yard and backyard, and they offer a 25 year warranty! System Pavers is a large company, in business for a long time, has great customer service, the workers did an awesome job and I know if there are any problems in the future with the work, the company will still be around. I'll be able to actually reach someone, which the small private contractors cannot offer. I'm glad I went with System Pavers, I would do it again."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

An asphalt driveway should be at least 3 inches thick over a compacted gravel base. Areas with poor drainage should have a thicker stone base. To install a new asphalt driveway over an existing driveway, the new asphalt should be at least 2 inches thick and the existing driveway should be in relatively good condition.

The average cost of 1,500 square feet of asphalt ranges from about $10,500 to $22,500, depending on location, thickness, base material, and how accessible the job site is to crews and equipment. Keep in mind that your asphalt material cost may vary depending on its type, ranging from porous asphalt to heated blacktop. Standard asphalt costs $7 to $13 per square foot.

Compared to a 10x20 concrete driveway costing between $800 and $3,000, a resin bound driveway of the same size costing $3,900 to $4,000 is the more expensive option. However, the cost still makes resin a cheaper option compared to a 10x20 paver driveway costing an average of $12,000.

The average cost to repair an asphalt driveway is around $2,459 to $2,500. However, prices can range from $100 for minor DIY crack filling to over $4,000 for more extensive professional work. Costs are often calculated per foot, with minor repairs costing $1 to $3 per linear foot and heavier damage like potholes, sinking, or crumbling costing $2 to $5 per linear foot. Patching smaller potholes can cost around $2 to $3 per square foot. The final price depends on the severity and extent of the damage, driveway design, local contractor rates, and whether sealing is included. For major repairs, it is recommended to hire a professional, and you may get a better deal by bundling repair and sealing services together.

Driveway pavers are often worth the cost. Paver types like cobblestone, brick, and concrete are highly durable, and permeable paver options can be tremendously eco-friendly. While you may pay more for a paver driveway, you’ll see great returns from the increased curb appeal and low maintenance compared to other types of driveways.
