Customers say: Quick response

"Estabrook Construction replaced the vinyl siding, painted the exterior of my house, and replaced my patio roof with asphalt shingles. They did an excellent job! They did this work in a timely manner and they cleaned up after the work was done. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs any kind of work on their home or business."

"We recently had Mega Power Electric Inc install a solar system and panels. The President and provided excellent communication all the way through the process. He even met with us after installation to explain the almost incomprehensible PG&E bill. Although not the least expensive bid, his was competitive and I felt he was as interested in educating me about solar and the various types of panels and inverter systems as he was in selling a system. He demonstrated how the array of panels would meet our energy needs and as opposed to some of the other companies, wasn't selling us more than we needed. We are very satisfied with our solar system and I highly recommended Mega Power Electric Inc."

"Artificial turf looks good. Some of the plants have died. It's only been five months since the job was completed. All the other items are of fair to poor quality. Concrete areas have to be re-done by another company because it has cracked within days to weeks of it being placed. Concrete splashed on retaining wall which was never removed/cleaned by Andres. Paint on fencing chips away easily. He said he would remove the splashed concrete off the wall but never returned to finish the job. As I stated earlier, I have to pay $3K+ to have the concrete done again. Haven't gone through an entire rain season so still don't know how the drainage system works or not. Would never hire him again."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In Susanville, start your fencing inspection routine each spring by checking for frost heave, loose posts, and winter storm damage. In summer, inspect for sun damage, warping, and pest activity. Fall is ideal for tightening hardware and applying weatherproof treatments. During winter, regularly clear heavy snow from the fence and monitor for animal or ice damage to ensure your fence remains secure and functional.

Helpful?

Cosmetic fencing in Susanville often uses decorative panels or pickets to boost curb appeal and complement home style, focusing on lighter materials and finishes. Functional fencing, such as privacy or deer fencing, prioritizes strength, deeper posts, and weather-resistant materials to withstand snow, wind, and wildlife. While cosmetic projects highlight appearance, functional fencing is designed for durability, security, and long-term property protection.

Helpful?

When planning fencing projects in Susanville, consider the area’s rocky, volcanic soil, which can make digging post holes challenging. Deep post installation is essential to prevent frost heave. Local wildlife, especially deer and burrowing animals, can damage fences, so opt for deer fencing or reinforced mesh. Be mindful of snow load, prevailing winds, and local height restrictions, especially for privacy fences and property boundaries.

Helpful?

In Susanville, common fencing mistakes include setting posts too shallow for frost-prone soil, ignoring snow load when choosing materials, and skipping required permits. Homeowners sometimes overlook property line setbacks or fail to use deer fencing where wildlife is active. Not planning for wide gates or future access, and neglecting to reinforce corners against strong winds, can lead to costly repairs or adjustments later.

Helpful?

Fencing in Susanville is often used to keep deer out of gardens, secure pets and livestock from coyotes, and define large property boundaries. Privacy fences help shield yards from strong winds and drifting snow, while reinforced designs protect against wildlife intrusion. Homeowners also use fencing to create safe play areas for children and to mark rural driveways, addressing both safety and property management needs.
