The black vinyl coating gives the fence rust and corrosion resistance, but its life span may be lower in wet, humid, or coastal climates where moisture or salty air can corrode the coating more quickly.

In most cases, a fence can only be built on your property with your consent. Not obtaining permission constitutes an encroachment and a violation of your property rights. However, exceptions may apply, such as when the fence is entirely within the property boundaries of the person putting it up and the fence complies with local zoning laws and regulations. In the vast majority of cases, chain-link fences are less expensive than wood fences. Installing a wood fence costs anywhere from 20% to 30% more than a chain-link fence, or an average of $3,100, whereas a similarly sized chain-link fence will average around $2,400. Even with add-ons and additional protective finishes, a chain-link fence is very likely to cost you less than a wood fence. The only exception would be a split rail wood fence, which can cost about half the price of a chain-link fence or less.

While it’s possible to remove a fence post with a truck and requires little physical effort, we don’t recommend this method. You can potentially hurt others or yourself or damage your property or vehicle attempting to take a fence post out with a truck. Instead, use a farm jack or a pole puller to remove the post.
