"We are renovating our house & reshaping it to a modern and contemporary look. As a part of the modern look, I wanted to have gutters with absolutely no round parts or any round corners. To my opinion, best way to hire the best company for the job is to read other people's reviews and experiences. That is how I found J.R. Rain Gutters through homeadvisors.com. Number of good reviews convinced me to give them a call. Eventually, I hired the company to do the job. It was one of my better decisions. Oscar showed up to take the measurement and give me the quotation. Very fair and competitive pricing. Oscar and his crew are very friendly and professional. He listened to what I exactly wanted and accommodated me. I have already received compliments on these modern look gutters. I would definitely recommend this company to all."

"Udi and his crew did a great job removing my old, rotting galvanized steel gutters and installing new OG aluminum gutters. His crew was fast, professional, and on time; Udi knew exactly what needed to be done and his bid was exactly right. When there was a small problem at the end of the job, Udi came right back to fix it and didn't charge anything - that's real service!
I have some old redwood gutters on the back of my house and when I've figured out how to fix my roof (!) I'll call Udi to do the gutter work. Totally recommend him and his company.

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

If you are experiencing minor issues with your gutters, such as a small leak or cracks in one or two sections, it makes more sense to repair the issue than to replace your entire gutter system. However, you may need to replace your gutters if they’re frequently detaching from your home or if you notice a buildup of mold or mildew in your basement.

No—gutters should be designed and properly installed so they are ready to handle any level of rainflow from your roof. If you notice pooling water around your gutters or on the roof, it’s imperative that you contact a gutter repair pro near you—the slope of your gutters could be off and need adjusting.

Frequently, when water flows over gutters, it indicates a potential clog, necessitating cleaning. For instance, if a twig becomes lodged in the downspout, it can lead to a traffic jam, causing more leaves and sticks to accumulate. Another potential issue is an incorrect pitch, as gutters should channel water toward the downspout. If you observe water overflowing the end cap or leaking through it, it suggests that your gutters are improperly tilted.

Yes, many homeowners find that seamless gutters are worth the investment. Although they have a higher upfront cost than standard gutters—an average of $2,700 compared to $2,000—their benefits often outweigh the price difference. Seamless gutters last longer, require less maintenance, and are less prone to clogs and leaks due to having fewer seams. In contrast, standard gutters typically have seams every 10 feet, which can leak and require new sealant every one to five years. Additionally, seamless gutters are considered more aesthetically pleasing, come in a variety of colors to match your home, and can improve your home's curb appeal and potential value.

Buried downspouts can freeze during cold weather as cold water runs through them. If you’ve discovered your downspouts are frozen, you can carefully pour hot water down the top of the downspout to defrost them. If that doesn’t work, you may need to dig your downspout back up. Avoid trying to break the ice from the exterior using a hammer as this can cause cracks and damage to your downspout.

To avoid freezing the future, consider adding a heating cable to the exterior, which can adjust heat based on the surrounding temperature.
