The open layout design changed the way we use the space, and it’s been perfect for family gatherings. They were prompt, courteous, and genuinely invested in making sure we were happy. "Ben did some remodeling for our house in 2017. He was clear about the necessary steps and was dependable. He showed up when he said he would, and the work was finished on time and on budget which is very rare for contractors. He also provided thoughtful solutions to an outdoor drainage issue we had in our older home. A couple of years later we also hired him to do flooring at my relative's house, and he again completed the work on time and on budget with his team. We have always loved working with him and would gladly use him as our contractor on future jobs."

"They did an excellent job. The quality is outstanding. They pay attention to every little detail. They were very friendly, and accommodating to our wishes. They were very punctual, hard working, and cleaned up after each day. The kept the dust down to a minimum to the rest of the house. I can highly recommend Oshri Construction for anyone's next project."

"

When we started looking into getting a patio cover we got bids from three different companies.  We choose to go with PatioCrew.  Now we have a big beautiful insulated patio cover and we love it.  Warren and the crew were all really nice and polite to work with.  They specialize in patio covers and it shows.  They got the permit from the city for us and had no problem hooking up lights and fans under the cover.  The workmanship and quality is great, and we would highly recommend them to anyone!

Patios questions, answered by experts

A prefab sunroom will last for between 10 and 20 years in most cases, although you could get up to 50 years out of a high-quality prefab sunroom. In addition to material quality, your prefab sunroom’s lifespan will depend on the foundation type and the climate in your area. Extreme weather and expansive soil can decrease the expected life.

A screened-in porch can add value to your home, but it won’t count toward the total square footage at an appraisal or when it comes time to sell. A screened-in porch is not fully enclosed, usable year-round, insulated, or heated or cooled, so it doesn’t meet the requirements of livable square footage in most locations.

Yes, a screened-in porch will increase your property taxes because it has a foundation and is considered a permanent improvement to your land. The exact amount your taxes will go up depends on the value of your existing home, the value added by the screened-in porch, the size of the structure, your location, and more.

In most parts of the U.S., adding a screened-in porch requires a building permit. Since this type of project often involves structural work and changes to your home’s footprint, homeowners should adhere to local guidelines. That said, permit rules can vary widely depending on where you live and how extensive the project is. Before you start sketching out plans or ordering materials, check in with your city or county’s building department to avoid headaches, fines, and potential structural issues down the line.

If you’re trying to decide between a sunroom and a screened-in porch, the right choice will depend on your priorities. A screened-in porch costs only a fraction of the price of a sunroom, but in exchange, it has much more limited use. A sunroom will add more value to your home, but at a much higher up-front cost and longer construction timeline.
