Our driveway is about 100 feet long and a stretch about 50 feet long was erupting from roots underneath, causing major turbulence every time we drove over it. We got estimates from a few firms and decided on Elite because they seemed professional and experienced, and their estimate was reasonable (other estimates were up to three times higher). I’m glad we did. They did everything in a timely, responsive way, with no unforeseen add-ons, and our driveway is now in excellent shape. I really need to single out Brandon for praise. He was incredibly responsive and devoted. He explained everything in advance in an understandable way. He always responded quickly to my texts, even when I made clear no quick response was necessary. And he was clearly committed to doing a good job, even showing up on a weekend (with no extra charge) to manually speed up the drying process when some areas in the shade were taking longer than expected to dry. Paving a driveway requires heavy machinery, and while you can rent the equipment needed, operating it close to your garage slab or around your home’s foundation can crack it and lead to structural issues. 

Asphalt is cost-effective, quick to install, and offers longevity with proper maintenance.

Give your driveway at least 24 to 48 hours to dry. After 72 hours, you can walk or park on it, but tread lightly. It might look solid, but it’s still soft and can be easily damaged. It can take 30 days to a year for an asphalt driveway to fully cure, so avoid parking extremely heavy vehicles on it. For the best results, always check with your contractor for their advice. Different mixes and weather conditions can affect curing times, so it’s worth waiting longer if it means a driveway that lasts.

Driveways last 25 to 50 years, but you’ll notice cracks and possible missing pieces during this time. Regular maintenance, such as filling cracks, reapplying sealer, and ensuring that water does not erode the base material, can help extend the lifespan of your driveway. Gravel driveways should be regraded to fill in uneven areas every year or two, depending on how frequently it is needed.
